it is amazing how dry an engine becomes after installing these head gaskets. a lot of oil seeps out from the pushrod side making you think your filters are leaking!! these gaskets have a printed on sealing compound and are installed dry.

i don't understand the problem with drop in rpm between gears. if i shift at 2300 rpm, this is what i get (with .69 od) 2nd to 3rd, 960 rpm. 3rd to 4th, 881 rpm. 4th to 5th, 714 rpm. it all works out very well with plenty of power.

what we need is a better fifth gear ratio for the transmission. i know, it's been about 3+ years now, but i am still working on having these made. maybe before i die??

keep in mind also that the m/c does NOT apply the brakes. it only controls the air regulator on the air pack. also talk of a proportioning valve simply does not apply when you have all drum brakes. so it comes down to this: you need 2 air packs and a way to control the air to them.
the point? just that the new one piece black gaskets are expensive and i am willing to sell them at a big discount......... they are new production and are the best you can buy.
the reason i ask is that i will be selling the new style on ebay starting tomorrow. $80 for a set of 2 head gaskets only, including shipping. no other gaskets yet. am working on getting a head set togeather later.
just search ebay for 'multifuel head gasket'

i looked at that and it says it is for the -4, but it does not address the same mag as mine has and therefore no info on timing the internal rotor drive.
first i would pull the compensator from the top to see that it is clean, oily and no rust inside. if that is ok you need to look at TM 9-2910-226-34, page 3-40. i would remove the lever, then the cover and see if that fixes it. if not, remove the idle and high idle stop screws and the piece on...
