    WC63 color mystery

Does the key fit in an ignition switch on the truck? That is a huge hint that lends a lot of credibility to the China Lake NAS provenance. Airfield vehicles would have been yellow.

    WC63 color mystery

In my opinion, this yellow repaint was done by the first government agency that received the truck from war surplus. Could have been the California highway dept etc.

    New to me 8x8

I see uncovered exhaust leading to twin turbochargers. Engine is likely full of water. Sadly this is not economically repairable.

Bought a M915 impulsively and need advice

    Yup gauges should light up.

Bought a M915 impulsively and need advice

Ok then you have a M915A1. Suggest you only run two batteries, 4 are only needed for arctic temps. Keep a 12 volt battery maintainer on each battery, the alternator on these trucks is the weak link, it does not like charging low charge batteries. Enjoy the truck, they are super reliable and...

Bought a M915 impulsively and need advice

Well if it started it’s hooked up right. Tape up the light gauge wires. Do you have a lever controlling the transmission or buttons?

Bought a M915 impulsively and need advice

Looks like you have the brown or tan wire going to minus, if that is your 12 volt feed, it needs to go to 12 volts. Suggest you be 100% certain of your connections lest you smoke a bunch of stuff.

    19.5 rims for M172 trailer

Looking for two or three of these. Unmistakable, they have small round vent holes and are Budd 6 hole. Tire not needed.

    M35A2 Generator

That would be my suggestion. They are one of very few outfits that deal with these old 60 amp generators.

Identifying cut wires under dash - M1165A1 REV

Sorry nope there are plenty more cut wires. Won't be too hard to figure out, these trucks are not too complicated. You will have wiring not included in any diagrams, that being the compressor and the IR light circuit specific to GMVs.

Identifying cut wires under dash - M1165A1 REV

Do you see the turn signal controller in other pics? That could be one cut bundle.

    M1081A1 won’t shut off

I would start by unplugging the under cab switch panel to eliminate it from being a cause. I think that can be done.

    M1081A1 won’t shut off

You are saying when you turn off the ignition switch, absolutely nothing happens? Did someone flip some of the switches under the cab? What specifically does “panel is Christmas lighting” mean? Flashing on and off? Every idiot light lit?

Can we put these in the TM section please?

Rod Hall Suspension Operation & Maintenance

Nice to see these WB3s being saved for what they are. The 1025A2 GMVs that came out years ago for the most part ended up neutered or worse.

Rod Hall Suspension Operation & Maintenance

Oh it will ride like crap, the suspension doesn't flex at all when unloaded. Springs are the issue, lots of threads on here about spring replacements with less rate. The Thomas air compressor is not to complicated, there is a switch on the dash for it and the end of the hose attaches where...

Rod Hall Suspension Operation & Maintenance

Not that I am aware of. Is yours one of the OG M1025A2s or one of these magical WB3s that we are seeing now?
