    Is this a whistler Turbo?

I believe so. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?61801-Turbo-part-number-ID EDIT: After re-reading that thread, not so sure. Please carry discussion over to that thread so we can finish that thread and find an answer.

    1940 Federal 606 C2 Wrecker

No toy on Earth is practical. Antique cars, sports cars, boats, airplanes, etc. They're all expensive and the only way to do a cost/benefit analysis is to somehow quantify the joy you get out of them.

    1940 Federal 606 C2 Wrecker

That's a great score, good on you for saving it. Although finding the right rear body will be difficult. I wish I could help, but my knowledge of these is near non-existent.

Would there be any interest in an all Stainless steel brake line kit for a deuce?

Everybody pay attention: I have a set of brake lines off my '67 I am doing a ground up resto on. I have found a local place that says they can replicate my factory system, but I don't know about cost yet. If people are serious, I can have 5-10 sets made. I'll have to inquire about whether...

Oil is 60: Not sure what the fuel is, it's in one of the TM's. Be careful overtightening the oil bolts: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?15029-I-think-I-broke-the-oil-filter-canister-bolt!!

    Brake hose upgrades?

I think I've said this before (and I know Jwaller has), but the repro M44 hoses are atrocious-they dry rot much quicker than the originals. I'd say on average they're only good for about 5 years and that's absurd. Especially on a single circuit system. If someone would tool up and start...

M38A1 Transmission and Transfer Case Seals

Get the right tool for the rear hubs. One of mine came of pretty easy but the other did involve some profanity.

    My new M38

I like Zout's A1's in CARC but if I had an M38, especially one like that, I'd have the right OD on it.

That's awesome, congratulations. I love early Jeeps so much. I want another M38A1 so bad.

    brake light switch upgrade

I've never had an A3, so I don't know how they are (air or hyd. pressure switch) but after my experience with the '87-'89's, I assumed the military did the air pressure activated switch MWO sometime in the interim between the end of A2 production and the end of A2 usage in the service(s). I...

    brake light switch upgrade

My '87 A2C has 2 short airpacks and it uses the old style hyd. pressure switch. 2 other '87-89 USAF's I've had were the same way. So they were using the old style switch right up to the end.

Official 2013 SS Georgia Rally Info SSGR13 thread

I am happy to announce that the time has come for the 2013 Steel Soldiers Georgia Rally info thread! There is one big change-although I am going to maintain a behind the scenes hand on the rally, this year, Swiss is going to be the leader. Last year, I worked myself to death running the...

    Correct DUKW Oil Pressure?

    1. I would have no problem with 20 psi @ idle hot. Did older stuff run lower pressures at hot idle? Not sure, although I've had plenty of stuff that ran forever with low pressure. As long as you have enough pressure to create the hydrodynamic wedge that "floats" the crank in the bearings...
