I cut that bar down and welding in nuts in the end of the tube. I then drilled holes in the receiver hitch and bolted the bar in plate. This way I have both my hitches and the pintle hitch is not weakened. If you remove that bar it drastically reduces the strength of the pintle hitch. The pintle...
RE: East PA, NY, NJ boarder area truck looking for a load We
I wish I could take you up on it. Tell everyone else to stop bidding and maybe I will win one. I hope you get a taker. It is a pretty good deal.
I got a set of warn hubs from my local store for $75. They were the quarter turn instead of the stock ones that have almost a full turn to engage. I did not try to swap my internals. I just scuffed the chrome, primed, and painted them flat black. I wonder if the internals will swap between the...
I have seen the truck. It is not an 89. I told him about this. The title has the registration number not the vin number. He had the thing on Ebay about a month ago. The truck cab is real rusty. He has taken parts off the truck such as the heater. His description on the ebay auction was a great...
I know it is illegal to sell any vehicle in Michigan without providing a title(even a scrap vehicle needs a scrap title) but I don't think they have a dealer license here. That kind of takes away the motivation of loosing a license.
Michiganders have an out on this one. If we get a historical plate and the vehicle was not originally equipped with one then you do not need one. My 1984 Cucv will be eligible next year for the historic plate but it is a daily driver so I will have to rig up a light. I was going to put one on...
The brake test sticker does not imply any rebuild just a check. I have not seen it in the states so it might be a Europe thing. The tag below denotes a repair being done and it may have been anything but that sticker also does not really tell us anything about a depot rebuild. All the depot...
No offense at all. I am just a cheap bastard so with it would probably be harder to come to a reasonable price to me than some other folks. I had a guy get with me and if I could have moved the truck right away he could have given me a real good deal as he was empty in the area after another...
I appreciate your input Gator. You obviously need to make money hauling. Most of us have day jobs and I make my money while at work. With that being said when I help someone out I like to at least get my fuel costs back but I do it mostly to help my fellow SS member. I have done so on occasion...
They may have been repainted but not new. When they depot rebuild they do tear apart the truck and check everything. Everything is checked and rebuilt if needed. They then assemble the truck from misc parts. Is there a rebuild tag on the dash under the data plate? Is the date plate a generic one...
Wasn't this one one ebay with a starting price of $5700? I think it is relisted for buy in now in the $3900 range and is from Northwest Equipment. The gasser's milage will be less than the diesel. I think $3900 is pushing it for my personal taste.
RE: Stage
I don't have unlimited space but I do have space for auctions in Lansing and Selfridge.
Lane, Do you have me covered up north? :driver:
The biggest problem with me is the pickup day. I have all the time in the world on the weekend but for the GL pickup times I have to take a day...
