Mine is a daily drive. In Michigan I could bend the rules to do it but I would clearly violating the law. In Michigan you can be cited for using a historical plate on a daily driver.
Kyle,
I understand and respect your opinion but being someone that deals with interpreting laws for a living I have to say you are wrong. If you have any attorney friends run it by them and see what they say. If he goes to complain to the trooper or officer's supervisor that supervisor will...
Rizzo,
I have to make it out to see one of your mudbogs this year.
Lane,
May sounds good to me. Once we get into June, July, and August the calender seems to be pretty full with events.
They also enclose it so they can keep stuff in the truck without it walking away. We always had to make them so that the cargo cover would still cover it. Usually we had the canvas shop sew on a couple of feet to either side to make up for the added height.
I am a majority!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would want to but work and such might keep me from being able to attend depending on the days. When I saw Northern Michigan I thought you were talking about Lansing or Flint.
But we (LEO) have a lot of practice at reading the law and knowing how it is to be interpreted. In the end it is not how the LEO interprets the law it is how the prosecutor and ultimately the judge or jury interprets it. Knowing what you local judge thinks about an interpretation is real...
RE: pull the cover...
No need take the cover off. The switch is sticking on the steering column. It is a known problem. Replace the switch and it should fix the problem.
In the original post the vehicle was marked with military police parkings. It obviously applies to makings used by police and fire departments. I don't see how you think a spotlight would violate that law. The 2003 jeep willys does not say US Army if I remember correctly. Police edition Harley...
Re: RE: i need your input please on 5 tons
Actually, most states do not require anything but a regular driver's license to move any GVWR vehicle combination if it is not operated commercially. In other words people can use big trucks for personal use. California has non-commercial class A but...
If your 3/4 ton truck had trouble towing an M1009 and trailer you need to take it to a shop and get it checked out. A half ton is enough to tow that load. It would not be fast but if the loadout was proper it should not be a problem. I have a set weight distributing hitch for my car hauler...
Why go through the trouble and expense when you don't need to? Some say it will help in case you get in an accident but I would say that you are actually in worse shape if you get in an accident and have a CDL. The attorney suing you then can clearly show that you had training and it makes it...
Ken
Look a little further down the page and you will see that personal recreational vehicles are exempt. Or you could just read my post directly from the same CDOT CDL manual a few posts up.
For those people not used to reading law. Most laws have the law then a laundry list of exceptions...
Any brake system with front disks and rear drums needs a proportioning valve due to difference in braking efficiency. It is a similar setup but they are different for different vehicle weights. The blazer also does not have the valve the M1008 does that adjusts the brakes according to how much...
Did the speed on the speedometer register right or pretty close? If it did then the problem is in the speedometer. The changed for different gear rations are accomplished at the input gear for the speedometer cable in the transfer case. You do not change gears in the speedometer itself.
