Instead of bed liner sprayed on, you could use the stick-on sheets of sound deadening material designed to use inside car door, under floors etc. Dynamat is one popular brand, but there are others that are less expensive. Some are rolls and some are 12 x 12 squares.
Warm them up to help conform...
Looks like several guys beat me to the punch, but as I was reading my response was going to be Buy whatever is on sale! I've used them all. Rotella, Delco, Delvac, Tractor Supply's "Traveler" line, ( just got 2 gl. of Traveler for $17 on special ! ) even the Wally world's Super Tec. oil. (...
Still seems like a governor problem to me ( assuming the answer to Guy's final question is no ). It's sounding more and more like you are probably going to have to take off the timing gear cover and inspect the governor assembly. You said it will hold at least 12K, so that means mechanically...
I think the first thing you should do is give the AM/VM and AC select switches a good cleaning and exercise them a bit. Could be just oxidation on the contacts causing bad connections. There's lots of discussions here about the switches, what happens when they are dirty and how to clean them...
You know.... I wonder if we could be overlooking the obvious?? Is it possible your governor droop adjustment is way off??
Take an look in the TM, it will tell you how to adjust it. There's a plug in the timing gear cover near the governor. You remove the plug and use an allen wrench to adjust...
Is the Hz gage at 60 approximately?
My first guess is a defective, damaged or otherwise "messed up" voltage adjustment Pot in the voltage regulator.
If you look at the VR you will see a small hole in the front cover with an adjustable potentiometer behind it.
I had a machine where someone tried...
One thing that comes to mind, if the pump itself is good would be a problem with the cup under the pump that rides on the camshaft.
Make sure it isn't either missing or stuck in the bore and not allowing full motion of the pump.
The other thing to do would be to swap the pumps and verify if the...
I'm really surprised a little 831 is giving you that much trouble with vibration. DieselAddict has the right idea, I tell everyone who buys a gen from mr to stick it on a Tractor Supply horse stall mat to keep it quiet and stop it from walking around.
When bolting it down you should also isolate...
Best thing I've found for the metering pumps is to get a gallon of the "soaking style" carburator cleaner and soak them for a couple days, that usually fe=rees everything up, but if you disassembled them and reassembled incorrectly you'll have to take it apart again.
Unfortunately the few I've...
Yes, tanks are different. Read posts 20 and 21.
You need an 8" for a 803 but you may need to put a little "spacer" on the bottom to prevent the float from touching the step in the tank.
It's difficult to say as far as the oil mist and crankcase pressure, without seeing it in person, but keep in mind, both pistons move up and down in unison not 180* apart, so pulsating air is somewhat normal. If the motor sounds like it is cranking too freely ( lack of compression resistance...
Pleased2fly, You may have just saved me an angry customer and possibly a damaged motor.... Had a customer coming for an 802 Sat. and I knew which of the 2 he was going to choose from, so I was double checking everything before he came and thought of this thread. Wouldn't you know it! one of the...
Thanks Guy, the last 2 docs are somewhat relevant in that it shows the old PSU pump and then superseded by the Ambac PN.
What's pretty funny is that the TM actually shows the old PSU pump in the exploded views, but I never even noticed because I've always used the Ambac docs. ( also attached in...
Thanks for the effort Guy. Looking at it quickly I would think I could probably convert the Bosch to Ambac by changing the plunger and the gear ( since the Bosch gear is missing the recess for the plunger guide ) and adding the plunger guide. There are also a couple other minor differences like...
Do you have the parts you need already? If not I have cranks, rods, pistons, rod bearings but no new main bearings.
I also have a rebuilt motor and parts motors, If you need anything.
