Getting close folks. Make your last minute preps. My truck is still parked with the oil pan off. Still not found the problem but will button it up with new oil pump and hope for the best. Lets pray that this storm makea a hard right and bugs out quickly.
How would you like to look at this pic on GL and see what showed up in the background. FYI they did sell on GL and brought good money. Scrap was way up at the time....sadly.
I have a new oil pump on hand and it will be installed. I'm also removing vac pump and replacing it with a tach drive oil pump drive.
Tinstar, love the avatar Sir. 160th SOAR has been at the port many times doing training missions with a few SEAL teams. They housed their birds at my...
OK, I'm slow. Finally pulled the pan today and I must say, I'm dissapointed. The oil pump drive is fine and I see nothing wrong with the pump, inside or out. I haven't pulled the vac pump yet but don't see how that can fail. Will try to reassemble tomorrow and hope for the best.
For what it's worth, I've had situations that could have been handled differently but I had it in my mind that my way was the only way. Once done I had no regrets either. I would embrace the challenge of swapping out a rear axle assy in the bush but I also know that they just aren't that...
A number of years (decades) ago, we were out wheelin and one friend was.climbing super steel hill in his 71Chevy when it pitched the rear lift blocks out. The truck collapsed on top of the axle on the hill. Broke lots of stuff but we were able ro remove and reinstall that rear on the hill...
Doable but challenging. I think I would fabricate a way to attach one end of the diff to the RZR and fab up a mount to attach wheels to the back and make the axle into a trailer. Take either a torch or a good quantity of batteries to operate a grinder with cutoff wheel or recip saw and bring...
OK but are you saying you can't run a deep cycle battery now? You will need an isolator to effectively charge the deep cycle and truck battery at the same time. I run several devices off the back battery on mine by not using a common ground stuff. Even my SECM runs its light tower off the...
For clarification, what part are you calling a pumpkin? Were it my truck, here is what I would do. Pack in all the hand tools including a long rod capable of reaching the broken axle. If the broken axle is still in place, support the truck and remove it. Remove cover and the bolt that...
