sprag is linkage selectable and rear has to slip before front will pull. front shaft turns slower. air is, well, air selectable and both shafts turn same speed. throw sprag away and get air shift.
it's not that heavy. i always just lift it out or in. the fan should be on the water pump before you install the rad so i don't understand about the cardboard. leave the belts loose so you can turn the fan to get it in the shroud. rebuilt is a relative term, what is the wtty? many deuce mil usa...
m16ty, right on, someone ask me the other day what i would sell my current truck for. i said $30,000. basically condition is everything. miles and hours you are kidding yourself that you will ever know the actual miles. rust can be a big problem and will get worse fast. body condition and paint...
on another thread , 'Replacing your multifuel engine with something else?', there are a couple of comments about headlights. on my mellinium reo i had 7" halogen bulbs (sealed beams) since it was 12 volt. i also had 7" halogen bulbs in the fender mounts but only the high was wired. on high they...
the lds pistons have oil channels in the piston head. the ldt only sprays oil on the bottom of the piston head. close but lacking for max power. the lds probably can be pushed further than its stock 200 hp since the mil set them conservativly. i feel the ldt can be pushed to 200 hp but...
RE: a reeeeaeeeealllll dumb question...
the headlights on the fenders of 'mellinium reo' were from a m-757. bjorn will know. some modification to mount on angle. would be easy to fab up a set
RE: a reeeeaeeeealllll dumb question...
all diesels are multifuel, but it really depends on how the ip is lubed. some use the fuel and others like the m35 use engine oil for everything other than the actual fuel plunger.
it is also easy to take the ip head apart and examine it to judge its condition. i can look at one and tell you if it will work or not. it must not show signs of wear, it should be very shiny and smooth with no scratches. this takes some experiance, but in short if you pull the pump center...
RE: Re: RE: Question about diesel fuel in the crankcase
there is fuel under pressure in the area between the 'o' rings. how do you think the fuel gets to the pump plunger. very easy / likely to have a leak here yet i never see it mentioned.
RE: Re: RE: Question about diesel fuel in the crankcase
actually there is one major place for a leak that no one ever talks about. there are two 'o' rings under the ip head and they always look old, flat, and hard. the fuel pressure in the base of the ip head is from 20 to 70 psi so you can...
no point in changing the whole pump. just change the ip head, it is the only part you need and very easy to change just observe the timing rules. if you had fuel in the oil it is most likely the compensator, just bypass it, nothing to take apart or change. there is also the possibility that fuel...
i'll bite too. Starting in 2nd gear will destroy the synchros on the 2nd gear mainshaft??? i have at least as much experiance with this trans as anyone and i have no idea what you are saying..........
