    Tire Bounce...

It’s that new math they’re teaching our kids in school. I before E except after 3, and stuff like that. I blame Gloria Steinem, Jimmy Carter and those darned hippies. It also didn’t help when Bob Dylan went electric.

Have you tried allignment? also... I love centrimatics BUT did you swap the two front centrimantics to see if maybe one is bad?

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Cam, after my alignment and addition of centrimatics I pushed mine down a long straight downhill road at 62MPH. Super stable. Wants to go straight and is not twitchy in the least. Never will do it again with the 3-speed as it killed my hearing, but I will be installing the 4 speed finally...

    Correct Antennas for a M1046a

Just noticed... Amazing to me that they did not use fore and aft chains to secure this rig to the flatbed.

    Brand new Newby question M998

I have an '87. It has a 6.2 and the 3 speed. 3 speed will limit you to 50MPH. 4 speed will allow 65MPH. For offroading and trails, 3 speed is awesome. For long hauls on the highway, you will want to update that transmission. (Juan Prado has a 3 speed that he swears will to 70, so there must...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Maybe time to remove the outer and go to NAPA or another mom and pop auto parts place with the inner and see what looks like it might fit? Rarely do these boots fit only 1 vehicle. (In my experience. )

    Correct Antennas for a M1046a

Welcome. Nice rig! Where in Michigan? Site rules ask that you post it. I have a M1025A1, so I know the fun you're gonna have!

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Looking at the camper box in the HMMWV bed, it looks like there are several points to place a come-along. A collapsible ladder with a skid made from a piece of plywood and you should be able to get that tire up there easy. Even without the camper box, attaching the come-along to the pintle and...

My first M998: Fixing her up

1000eemonarch, you misunderstood the keyed ignition comment. Pushbutton LED and keyed ignitions are sources of constant electrical issues on HMMWV's. No one was telling you to install one.

intro - embarking on HMMWV build

Steve is one Hell of a guy. Helpful and solid. There is also the company "Plan B" in California that will have what you want. A member here bought from them and was happy, although he had a differential fail driving cross country to get the rig home. https://www.planbtrucks.com/ If you buy the...

intro - embarking on HMMWV build

So what you're saying is you want to build a $65-$75K truck, but you don't have the truck or the parts or the experience? My suggestion... Stop posting pics from the Internet, start reading a lot, and then purchase a truck that is within your means. Then fix what you have to fix prior to...

    H2 rim on m998

Years ago, I placed Lexus rims on a Saab 900. I brought the rims to a machine shop where they placed them on a lathe and milled out of the center area for $20 apiece. That is my suggestion for you now. Take to a machine shop and have them mount on a lathe and mill out the centers to the exact...
