Pull the gauge cluster, reground it as per the many posts re.: this issue, and ensure the polarity of the wires to the temp gauge is not reversed.
My vehicle had multiple reversed wires and multiple bad grounds. Now works well.
To steal a comment from a prior post in this thread:
Again, this is mixing apples with spaghettis.
MILITARY RIMS ARE BEST WITH BEADLOCKS! You're not running military rims.
Geez, this is a ridiculous thread.
28Volts... That's what the alternator puts out my friend. We say 24 because the batteries are about 12-13Volts apiece, but the try range goes up to 28.
Amperages need to be checked BUT 28V is HMMWV standard for gauges, even if you have a dual voltage rig.
I have a slantback. Running doorless in Brooklyn is an invitation to thieves. If I want air I open the sunroof (turret).
If you want to run without doors you can just keep the military mirrors IMHO.
I still think Steve (RWH) sells the best device. It allows retention of the stock ignition switch but prevents starting because it is a radiofrequency fob that must be in proximity of the vehicle to start. Simple, effective, safe, robust.
The PCB's and EESS's use specific glow plug temp sensors kinda' unique to each PCB/EESS. You need to confirm the PCB you have is going to work with the sensor you have, otherwise both require replacement.
I spent over a decade where temps swung from +90 to -55. Also moved from place to place so vehicles needed to be protected.
Love Newfies! Great animals.

1) Replace the coolant with 60%glycol and 40% water. DO NOT TRUST WHAT IS IN THERE! Winters get cold in that neck of the woods and if you assume your current coolant is mixed properly then you might come back to a cracked block.
2) Battery tender and disconnect the batteries. If you...
I do not believe your switch was made in USA, Japan, South Korea, or Germany, as they are not typically made there. I have worked with research fellows from mainline China, and they are brilliant and affable. The problem is they are not the ones in charge of production. My statements are not...
Essentially the OP is asking “why would a device built in China advertise that said device is rated for 24V, and then fail?”
Everything built in Chairman Mao’s country is always so reliable, so I can’t imaging anything from there being manufactured poorly. They built the COVID-19 virus, told...
