    Which paint?

Its well within your capabilities, even if you've never done it before. Cheap HF paint sprayer, point and shoot....

    Water in fuel

Drivers side , big filter on firewall, petcock on bottom. (I'm presuming your 5ton is a 939 series)

When do you think OshKosh LATVs will be available?

This is almost a direct quote of qhatb was being said about HMMWV's until just a very few years ago....

Another ill conceived trip - 1500 miles in a HMMWV. KS to the FL/GA line

Made it to the farmhouse in KS last night. Started the trip at 96*, ended the trip freezing to death in the mid 40's. And J woke up this morning with what I believe is a kidney stone in her one remaining kidney. Off to the hospital we go...

    Bad fuel cleanup help needed

This is my experience as well. If this were a truck and I was going to driive it 1000 miles I'd just take off and go and top the tank off with fresh fuel in about 50 miles and then again at 1/2 a tank. If it's a genset that's going to sit prior to use, you can drain the tank and replace it...

    37" tires...

The difference in speed between 35's and 37's is about 5% at any given rpm. It's a linear function. There's always more to being comfortable at X mph than just rpm...

Another ill conceived trip - 1500 miles in a HMMWV. KS to the FL/GA line

The trip back to KS has begun. I used the HMMWV as a daily driver while in GA. Traveling together with the Jeep JKU pulling the travel trailer and the HMMWV pulling the welder. Cruising 55ish. The HMMWV is getting about 12mpg pulling the welder. Made Valdosta GA to Chattanooga TN on day...

    deuce for sand offroading?

I've driven dueces,5tons, and HMMWVs a couple thousand miles in a single trip without issues. Sitting idle is much harder on them than moderate use. My favorite are the 5ton trucks, but my use isn't sand specific. I would not assert that the LMTVs are the most reliable of the bunch.

I'm just off I - 75 in Valdosta GA. I've got a guy in Miami who'd like some cans. If anyone is going that way... Thanks

    Some brake questions

Side note - fording plug. Best left as it is unless you're deep enough to submerge it.

    Hurricane Florence

I'm certain that happens. These numbers strike me as too high to be attributed to that. It's easy to dismiss it as "they didn't properly size match the generator to the tractor" or "they didn't properly maintain it". But the number is too large for me to just dismiss it...

    Hurricane Florence

These are guys that farm for a living, who run their equipment 24/7 during harvest. I'm reluctant to attribute the failures to not using enough tractor, or failure to adequately maintain it. Failure modality was main bearing failures. The number was "several", too high to be coincidence. My...

    Hurricane Florence

You'd think.... But apparently running a PTO generator loads them differently than running other PTO equipment. Storm and extended power outage in KS combined with a recent good deal on PTO generators caused a bunch of tractor failures a few years ago. Too many to be coincidence or tractors...

    Looking for a decent M35A2

Licensing requirements vary by state. I don't know the specifics for WA. Many states have exemptions that apply. I've had bunches of deuces and 5tons. My choice for a keeper truck is the 5ton in my avatar pic. There's no wrong choice. All of the MVs are a load of fun. The more you research...

    Looking for a decent M35A2

Everything you like about a deuce applies even more so to the 5tons. Be sure to check those out as well.
