    700R4 Transmission question

The 2.8 v-6 has a different bell housing entirely and will not work. Don't waste your time. Edit: if you can find one that went behind a 4.3 liter v-6 it will have the proper bell housing.

    Road trip to Ringgold Ga.

I'm going to try not to keep you guys waiting on me too long, but as you know, the skinny pedal only does so much in the deuce.

    Just yanking your chain man.

    Road trip to Ringgold Ga.

Looks like I'll be leaving later tomorrow instead of early in the morning. Just haven't had time to do all that I needed to do to get ready. Worked on the deuce all day today and I still have to change out a steer tire before I leave. I also have to go to town and get a few more weld on tiedowns...

Mercedes Sprinter van vs M-35 rear end...

What I worry about is the bed hold down bolts shearing off and the bed coming forward and cutting me in half along with the rest of the cab. Glad it wasn't too serious. I'm with the other guys in saying you have a bent dogbone or dislodged spring. That stuff gives a lot more than the axle tubes.

    Hattiesburg meet and greet

I can't make it Jeff. Turns out that I have to leave early to make it up to Georgia to deliver some goods. I'll make it out one of these times I swear.

If I could pick it up I can send it down with your 101 bed.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Changed fuel filters and installed a coolant filter kit, which I built a nice bracket for. Mounts right in front of the air filter box and bolts to the intake elbow.

Oh no, my truck ran 55 with all of the laundry equipment on it. And what I'm bringing there shouldn't weigh as much as all that.

    Top end oiling

I didn't take anything apart today except for an M85 laundry plant. Good information here guys, I'm finding the discussion very informative.

I wonder if the pins might be missing on mine. I know small parts sometimes get left out during careless or high volume rebuilding.

    Road trip to Ringgold Ga.

I hadn't even checked yet. It was 760 miles from my house to Durhamtown. I didn't know I was going to Drews? Not that I don't want to, but I'm kinda winging this whole thing right now. I still have to strip all the laundry equipment off of my M1061 to have a trailer to transport all the stuff I...

    Red's deuce/camper project

I agree but it still is true that size and design of he exhaust system has a large impact on gross egt. Every bend in a diesel exhaust acts as a kind of restriction, slowing the flow of gasses and building heat. Did you ever notice how on the factory exhaust the paint would turn red or burn off...

    Top end oiling

I do believe you may have illuminated my issue. My rocker shafts are installed with the oil ports facing down towards the heads. Apparently the builder didn't know or didn't care about the orientation of the installation. Good job on the wrench by the way, looks heavy duty. Interesting to point...

    Red's deuce/camper project

If you put more air in, you have to let more air out. Otherwise you start building heat up just cruising easy.

I did tell Jeff that I might not make it. Looks like I can't. Yes Gimp I could probably do that. Remember that I'm driving the deuce though, so slow going you know.

Man, the day after Christmas would mean I would have to leave ON Christmas morning to get there. I could maybe do a day or two after...

    Red's deuce/camper project

If you install an exhaust cutout close to the engine end of the system you will have more room to turn up the fuel when you are towing if you open the cutout. It will be louder though of course. The larger, or shorter your exhaust system is the better it keeps the egt down. Just an option for...
