I have known for some time now about this but was sworn to secrecy by David! David is an excellent advocate and a big fan of the post-WWII trucks so we can expect more coverage of our trucks. In years past, it is my opinion that they have neglected the "newer" stuff.
I am definitely in the minority as I prefer the box seat. My rationale...while the spring seat has the shock, you basically are sitting on foam on top of plywood. Eventually, your a$$ feels as though you are sitting directly on the plywood since the foam has compressed during a long trip...
Thanks, Mark. I will check with them, but I might just have to bite the bullet and buy from George. He is a really nice guy, but I was told they were about $40 cheaper a couple of years back.
I have 10 1100X20 NDTs mounted on rims...$1,000 for all of them...all have very, very few miles on them (less than 100) and some still have the mold seam. Beat that BERG tire! You get the rims and don't have to worry about paying for mounting. I don't want to ship them, though. They can be...
GIJOECZAR as one of the M36A3s. David Doyle told me there were not many made. I seem to remember that he said there were somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 or so.
FERRO, are you asking if there was ever an M44A3 in the M109 configuration? If so, the answer is yes. I've seen a couple M109A4s (the M35A3s designation for the shop van is an A4). Kind of rare, though. I'd like to get my hands on one.
I only have one HEMTT right now...this one. I sold the other one to a collector in KY about a year ago. I was sad to see that truck go...but was happy to find this one. I truly did not think I'd own another HEMTT, at least not for a long time. The truck needs a bit of work, but it will clean...
I suppose I should own up to it. That truck is mine. It will be heading south shortly to have a motor installed by a good friend, Tommy Craig, in Perry, FL. I kind of liked all the guessing about whose truck this actually was! I am sorry for being so secretive. I just don't believe in...
I'll say it again...MILITARYRESTORATION's price is very reasonable. Had I responded first, I would have said I have a really cherry early 90s M149A2...tan...fresh CARC...like new 1100 XLs...garage kept...$2150. Located in MD...and don't really want to sell it...but I will say I won't take a...
While I usually like to use Shell Rotella 15W40 for the reasons stated above, I will also use Mobil Delvac 15W40 or even Valvoline 15W40 if the price difference is big. NAPA brand oil is Valvoline or so I was told. Really, you can't go wrong with a name brand oil. I don't believe you will...
I realize you told us it was dangerous after the fact. What gave you the idea that it would be safe to do before you started? Perhaps, the fact that the trailer DID NOT have a pintle hitch in the rear should have told you the trailer was not intended to be towed in tandem. Perhaps, the fact...
