I have used at least two different kinds of CARC and all of it scuffs easily. It does seem to do better as it ages. It is almost as if it would be best if you left the truck under cover for a year or more. I know that trucks I've had that had older CARC did not scuff as easily as freshly painted...
Technical difficulties? Strange that they only figured it out a few minutes before the auctions were set to end. It would have been more believable if they had put a notice on their website an hour or more before they decided to change the auction end time.
As far as I understand, they only get a default if you agree to pay. If you decide not to bid anymore, they are out their money. They will probably read this post and change their policy, but I know at least two people who defaulted through no fault of their own and NEVER paid. One guy was on...
To the best of my knowledge, I finally heard about a situation where GL gave someone compensation for items stolen off of their truck while on their property. They denied me and you are damn straight to understand that I am talking to my lawyer. I was denied twice when they were in the wrong...
CCEQUIPMENT: What gave you the impression that they gave a flying crap what you or anyone else thought? That is where you went wrong. This is a company run by a bunch of idiots...who happen to know how to bleed us dry. The sooner you and other realize that the better.
Here is what happened. I believe that GL wanted to try a new plan to increase sales by getting the newbies to bid at the last minute on two days thereby increasing the prices substantially...and being newbies they will comply. Fortunately, I was not bidding, but I'd be pissed if they had...
Check with John Tennis on the rear winch. I believe he is selling off some of RAM's old stuff and RAM had some NOS rear winches for a very reasonable amount.
I have tried on a number of occasions to save money by buying a lesser truck and fixing it up. I have never come out ahead this way. In my experience, it is better to buy a nice truck for more money than to try to fix up a lesser truck and hope to save a buck. It obviously depends on the...
Figure you will spend $9-10K on a nice truck. If you think GL prices are high you already know why the retail market is high. I had a really nice 1987 M49A2C that I bought from John Winslow and sold for $9,500 (same price that I paid)...and I honestly think the guy stole it from me. The fuel...
I have never seen that before. I suggest you contact GL customer service for an explanation. While they suck as a company, you might get lucky and speak to a lucid rep.
If it is really a 1967 truck, it is almost definitely an M52A2. The main difference between it and an M818...the motor...NHC250 in in the M818. There are some cosmetic difference, but it basically comes down to the motor. The LDS motor in the A2 is a good one, too.
The fact remains, many guys are buying to fund a business of some sort. Most can say they are helping others but, admit it, you are helping yourselves first. The first guy that can say differently ought to receive a Nobel Peace Prize. There is nothing wrong with that, but admit it. I think...
