    Hard Top Install/Removal?

I have a turret/mechanical turret. So am I correct to assume I will only need to purchase an Aluminum top? Top view of my rig images attached.

    Hard Top Install/Removal?

Thanks Steve, but wouldn't that top require modifications to fit my 1987 M1025A1? Are there any aftermarket companies that make these? I'm looking for a fun truck, not a FMV show winner, so I'm willing to trade off OEM for something that looks close.

    Hard Top Install/Removal?

Are there Aluminum tops with the turret hole already cut out? I'm thinking of swapping mine out due to rust potential as I live by the beach

    What goes here?!

LOL. Depends on how good you are with a sheers or bandsaw. I would rip this out in a heartbeat just to get it done quickly. I HATE WAITING FOR PARTS! Rather make certain things myself. Whole project might take 15 minutes from drawing to cutting to riveting a 1/2 shaped tin can to create...

    What goes here?!

Easy to make from sheet Aluminum.

    Brake Lights

So the OP's vehicle is 31 years old and the brake switch wore out and as such is considered unreliable. LOL My GM cars all needed new brake switches after 15 years, so 31 is OK in my book. These former military vehicles are old, tired, and retired. They were rode hard and put to bet wet. If...

    Brake Lights

To fix something like this you can try to TIG weld and then file down vs. high temp silver based solder if metal is compatible vs. braze on brass if metal compatible vs. place a rivet in place of the worn contact vs. filing the contacts down to smooth and getting a few more years out of the...

Pulling out is always less enjoyable than putting it in. ;)

    Newbie Needs Advice on HMMWV

For New York DMV... You need to alert them to the 6 digit code and take a picture with you of the vin as pictured on the vehicle. They need a supervisor override. A police officer signed verification of the VIN also helps grease the wheels. I have LE friends, and if you do to then you are...

    Newbie Needs Advice on HMMWV

You are missing the turbo-doghouse cover, intake hose from box to manifold, a/c parts, doors, rear door fillers, You're missing headlights, although I see an LED light lying in one of the pictures face down in the bed. You're missing the battery retention bracket. Not sure if you have a...

    Newbie Needs Advice on HMMWV

Action PM'ed me to say: "There are m1152a1 and m1165a1 selling. They have turbo and 4 l80e. I think the “a1” in these cases designated the underbody and rocker armor." Thanks Action! Always appreciate your PM's and knowledge! Best, T

Everything’s bigger in Texas! Suddenly I’m glad all my Ex’s live there. 😈 EDIT - Seriously, stay safe and pray for all the infected.

    Newbie Needs Advice on HMMWV

I bought a thirty year old vehicle so I could default to register and insure as a classic. My vehicle was already titled in another state and transferred over. We New Yorkers already have an undeservedly bad reputation. Publicly declaring a decision to default is not helping that. You made a...

Boredom project, LB7 dirtymax turbo on a 6.2

Your made in China welder means you risk spreading Carvid-19 to your local truck population. Make sure you use an air filter and park 6 feet away from other vehicles.

    Newbie Needs Advice on HMMWV

I am from New York, and I got to say that it really bothers me that you bid on a vehicle and now are looking towards defaulting, because it makes all New Yorkers look bad.

    Tyre replacement with runflat

I need to teach the 3 rope interlock method. I’ll try to make a video. Only rope. No wood. One rope tied to hoop up. One down. One then locks run flat into oval shape. The upper and lower ropes run through each other. So the hoop stays upright. Gotta draw a picture. Words fail me. Works every...

    Tyre replacement with runflat

YIKES! I was referring to maybe a different method where the jack and it's base are on top of the tire and a chain is placed around the runflat and it is pulled free. No wood timbers involved. Coug, reread my post and didn't mean to sound so harsh.

    Tyre replacement with runflat

You were told wrong. Very wrong. You need the grease with all runflats. Multiple posts on multiple forums about people who did not run grease and tires started smoking and also sustaining damage, because there was no lubricant b/t the run flat and the deflated tire.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I thought new control arms for HUMMERS were like 30 clams. That's what they are costing me for my civilian HUMMER H1. Only way I would rebuild would be to use polyurethane bushings. Still, I admire your desire to do hard work. Best, T

    Tyre replacement with runflat

Multiple YouTube videos on how to, as Craig points out above. I prefer the engine cherry-picker method for removing the runflats, but there are compression tools AND the 2 bumper car method technique. You need to compress and bend the runflat to insert it into your new tire. You need to...
