In what world is it good to post a private number in plain site on the Internet?
You need to EDIT and remove the number and PM it to papakb, IMHO. Unless you like SPAM phone calls.
Interesting idea.
I use the rear seat storage area, and I’m thinking of placing a lock to keep the cover closed. It already has clips IIRC. This video gives me motivation.
As far as the video, use your wireless Bluetooth headphones next time.
Thanks for posting.

I installed centramatics, and at 55 I am super stable.
I am keeping the runflats because if I have explosive decompression I stand a better chance of not rolling over and not blowing out a pumpkin with a runflat installed.
I love your comment, but I gotta say I hate the stock HMMWV mirrors and their placement. The way they are fastened to our rigs is also annoying.
My complaints are based on my desire to use the truck as a civilian, which was of course not their intended purpose.
No shoppe vac needed.
Drill a 1/2 inch hole, and pull the rear tailgate and rock her back and forth until they all fall out. A hole in the corner will maximize your efforts.
[EDIT - drill hole on underside and close to the corner, and on the back away from where it is visible. Purchase plastic...
RWH has tremendous experience as a HMMWV restoration specialist.
He is pointing out that your deisres and requirements are perhaps unrealistic.
You need to decide why you want the truck, and then move from there. 2 door. 4 door. Hard top. Soft top. Hard doors, Soft doors. Will you use a a...
I need to paint a tin can army drab green. It is literally a tin can that held diced tomatoes. I'm repurposing it for my HMMWV tachometer.
I need a self etching primer from a reputable source at a reasonable price. I have the Home Depot green paint already.
I need a sanding scrungie type...
They are charging $80 for 2 wires terminated in Packard connectors and a $.50 toggle switch. I can (and did) build that for 3 dollars.
I can't believe what passes for reasonable price when people buy HMMWV parts.
IMHO
There's a few things I have done with other materials.
You can take old denim jeans or denim tent material or canvas and attach with an awl or sewing machine underneath.
You can use old canvas or denim and RTV to attach it to the underside of the top BUT you need to use something to compress...
Looks great but those adapters cost $110 for what is essentially a 3 by 6 inch piece of plastic.Must be filled with Platinum I guess? ;)
Me thinks I will buy the $30 mirrors and make my own adapter with some Aluminum plate and a few washers to offset the adapter to allow for fitment.
Thanks...
Might I make a suggestion:
A/C? Turbo? Not a lot of money? CTIS?
You need to do a lot of research because it sounds like you want an H1 and not a HMMWV.
In the mean time might I suggest the following:
When you post pictures, we use those pictures as information. You need to post exactly which sensor you are using otherwise there is an assumption that you are using the incorrect sensor.
[EDIT - I Reread my post... I don’t mean to sound harsh. Just trying to help by getting accurate information. ]
I’m about to install my tachometer. I got tired of seeing very expensive tachometer kits and I just bought the tachometer some time ago for maybe $100.
I have always thought that the old military vehicles housed some of their gauges in things that look like soup cans. Towards that end, and...
With that engine and transmission, I’ve only heard of one other person able to maintain 60 to 65 mph, and that is JuanPrado. I would be very interested to know what gears you have in your differentials. There is something different about your vehicle if you are able to maintain that speed for...
