I enjoy driving my Gasser M35 more than I do the Whistler M35A2. I also use the Gasser for chores around the house. Mainly because I can talk and listen to people further away than the end of my arms.
However, as mentioned above. They are about double the cost to go down the road as a...
More than likely, you will need a u-joint type socket to get it off from way back behind the t-case. Wrap the flexible part of the socket with electrical tape to make it stiffer and just put the bolt back in with it.
3/8" bolt should be torqued to around 35 ft-lbs.
I was going to suggest that as well. When I first heard the sound and had a delayed shift. I checked the fluid level. It was fine, but there was a fine coating of the silver slimy stuff on the stick. Less than 2000 miles on the filter and fluid, but before that, who knows? I got it off the...
You are the third member to use Camp Wood as your location. The other two actually live the Houston area, but have land out your way. I drive something green out to your town several times a year normally.
Your Sheriff is very supportive of MV's licensed under the FMV guidlines. One of your...
CUCV trucks all had the round air filter with a single oblong shaped air opening over the passenger side valve cover. Basically, the same air filter housing the civilian trucks used. GM used plastic ducting/tubing and such to try and quiet down the air noise heard inside the truck. I know...
Glad you got your shifting fixed. I plugged one of the vacuum lines all the way back in on mine and all is well.
I have been thinking about that noise though and think I found it. Air filter inlet. The Bomber had a plastic noise baffle on the intake when I got it. No outside air inlet...
My 6.2 diesel USAF Suburban started doing the exact same sound yesterday leaving work. The 1-2 shift usually happens about 8-15 mph. It didn't yesterday. The engine started to wind out, I heard the hissing and then at 22 mph it went to second and at 28 mph it went to third.
I am very...
Yep, I did lay out a doomsday possible application. However, I have been in his part of the country before. Some parking lots or fuel stations are several feet higher than the edge of the road and require a tight turn to get in. Water drainage. Houston is the same way.
I also read a thread...
Look mighty mouse. O'riellys couldn't find the darn part anywhere in the system with the part number in my hand. I spent 30 minutes with those yahoo's a few weeks ago. NAPA doesn't have a store in my town and Amazon was cheapest. With the price increase though and shipping. The retail store...
ACDelco 10154649 Switch Assembly
They are up to $24.99 now. Sorry about the big print above. I just went to my orders on there and copy pasted what I ordered.
Yes it will work. However, since your new pintle is a bolt on, it won't swivel. No big deal for the highway you might think. However, what about pulling into a fuel stop with a few feet of elevation change and a tight turn to miss that idiot who didn't see you while they just drove right in...
The fast idle really does make a good bit of difference on cold starts. We have been down in the 24-28° range the last two mornings here. The Blue Bomber started up and ran great yesterday with the fast idle engaged. This morning I had my son do it while I was feeding the horses. He didn't...
Fast idle soleniod.
The green wire that plugs into it is spliced in with the cold advance solenoid green wire. Both get there power from the cold advance/fast idle switch. That switch is located on the outside rear of the passenger side cylinder head. It really is just as much of a sensor...
Test your solid state blinker box.
Pin “A” to a light bulb which is grounded
Pin”B” to a 24VDC source
Pin “C” to ground
When “B” is connected, the light should blink about 80 times.minute
We were 24° here this morning. The Blue Bomber took about 5 seconds of cranking to start and didn't really make any loud clanking. The M1009 fired up instantly as usual and had real loud clanking like you describe.
I KNOW the M1009 has a working cold advance and functioning glow plug...
It could also be the rod going from the key down the column to the actual switch. My USAF Suburban had the "two hands and snap a fingernail" effort to turn the key in the cold. I swapped out key cylinders and it didn't help. Middle or lower column problem.
Yours could very well be just the...
Sounds like you got a fan and blower from a truck with A/C. Non a/c fans are different.
The low coolant light sensor is on the passenger side of the radiator. Unplug the wire, clean the plug and terminal then put it back together. They all flicker it seems. New senders are pretty cheap too.
G company hasn't been invited to the Rally unless I am reading things wrong. The link to them was posted to give somebody information about a re-enactment group in the area.
I see this is your first post, so welcome to the fun!
Now, for your problem. Diesels are simple. They have no valves to control air flow which means if the air filter isn't clogged and the exhaust doesn't have a fat rat living in it. Air is normally not the problem.
That just leaves fuel and...
