    CORRECT ALTERNATOR 4 A M1008?..

That is about right on the diagram rizzo but the connections on the real truck are not quite that clean. :D

    CORRECT ALTERNATOR 4 A M1008?..

Only if they are connected in parallel. aua I think $100 is the going rate and much better than getting a new alt.

    Battery Drain

Jon, Are those solargizers still going for $15 each. I got some for all my stuff including the gensets. The are technically not chargers. They are designed to desulfate the plates on the batteries. I think they do trickle charge also. Chuck

    My GL pickup today

Acetomatco, Are you the decoy GLG20?

Look what I just won on GL only 50 hours on it

The officers need a nice heated seat so as not to chafe their rearend. Most of the officer trouble I had was with butter bars that thought they were a lot more useful then they were. My usually line was that I had more time in rank than they had in the Army.

    Battery Drain

RE: battery drain I would endorse the disconnect switch away from the battery. When batteries charge they produce hydrogen gas with is highly explosive. Avoid any sparks near the battery. If you forgot and left the heater motor on there would be a spark when you connected the battery or...

    Saggy rear end

Make sure the body mounts are not rusted away while you are at it.

    CORRECT ALTERNATOR 4 A M1008?..

The manual does show that the isolated ground as charging both batteries but is also excludes one of the connections for alt. It only shows four connections when there is 5 connections. Maybe I am arguing semantics here. The connections for the batteries are direct series while the left alt...

    CORRECT ALTERNATOR 4 A M1008?..

It is complicated but the isolated ground connects to the negative side of the rear battery which connects to the pos side of the system that gets output from the alt not using the isolated ground. The current does not run from the one alt though the other to provide 28 volts to charge both...

M923A2 came home with me today!

We used the 900 series to pull out M198 howitzers. I really enjoyed driving them (in a war zone).

I learned to not be lazy.

RE: STARTER SUPPORT BRACKET - DON It is when the rear bracket is missing. The long heavy starter is too much for the two starter bolts without the bracket.

    CORRECT ALTERNATOR 4 A M1008?..

They are not really run in series. One charges the front battery and the other charges the back battery. The batteries run in series provides the 24 volts but the alts are not run in series.

    CORRECT ALTERNATOR 4 A M1008?..

Disregard the clocking part. This can't be done with the alt pictured above. It may be the 100 amp case. The smaller cases can be reclocked.

    CORRECT ALTERNATOR 4 A M1008?..

Should be standard GM 100 amp alt. Most of the like amp models are the same except for the "clock position". In other words, look at the above pics. See the side the plug goes into. It can be changed around to face any of the other three ways. It is pretty easy to do but I am pretty sure you...

Great...stuck in Fennville w/a no-start CUCV any suggestions

Amy, If you get stuck and need help figuring the system we could work out a meet time and I could try to help you. I think you have something else going on. Mine has not had a problem yet and it is parked outside from 1pm until about 10pm. I would check all the glow plugs for function. It...

    CORRECT ALTERNATOR 4 A M1008?..

They are both the same but you can use a none isolated ground in place of one of them. I think the Driver's side can be the civy non isolated ground alt.

You guys need a heated garage like mine. It only gets down to 30 in the garage with the outside temp -8 before the windchill. Started the deuce the other day and it was the first time I used the ether start system.

Great...stuck in Fennville w/a no-start CUCV any suggestions

Amy, Glad you got it going. The only thing I need to pick up now is in the thumb area. I appreciate the offer. My coworker's have seen you driving around and they thought it was me. I am sure the cucv is a big hit at the EPA. If you have any more trouble closer to home let me know. I am...

Great...stuck in Fennville w/a no-start CUCV any suggestions

I drove through that lake effect snow last week getting my new ring mount. Not a joke. It took an extra 4 hours just to get through a stretch of road about 40 miles long. If you get it back to A2 I can help but no way I can make the trip out there anytime soon. I would bleed the system at the...

MI to MN will have extra M105 anybody need one?

RE: Re: RE: MI to MN will have extra M105 anybody need one? If you do get all three back to MI I would probably be interested in one. I would expect the price to be higher to pay for transportation costs but let me know how it shakes out. At any rate good luck with it. Chuck
