    The truck part is the same for a 185 and 109. The diffreacne is in the equipment that came with with the truck and I'd bet that it all long gone.

    The quad 50 were mostly mounted on the 2 1/2 ton M35 trucks so you are useing the right truck.

    Give the oil filters 1/2 to full hour to drine before trying to remove them. Or there is a drain plug for the filter housing. And don't forget that there are two drain plugs on the eng and you need to remove both of them:wink: Another thing to do for removing the filters is to use a oil...

    M-818 pre heater problem

    The pre heat is 12Volt, It has one wire that hooks to one bat make shure that it is hooked up and is hooked to 12 volt only.

    I think all of you are right. In Daivd Dolyes book there is a pic of a M109 with the cargo cover on it with the awning bows and they look to be mounted to those brackets. The parts TM does say they are for lights but does not show any lights.

    Camo netting is too thin for safty. I thought about useing some 2" ratch straps, easy to put on and take off. Looks like we were all typing at the same time. I like both of the above ideas: the center mount seats and or the made up straps or even the extar boards on each side.

    If you are talking about the shaft that the engage lever is on Memphis Equipment has them. I got one from them and thought the price was good.
