Battery Voltage cycling after startup 1st green - yellow, then max - green, the max'd

Overall- I think the repair sounds robust. I'm not sure JB weld is a great idea given the heat and forces that go through that area. I'm not sure what the outer shell casing is made of, but seems like probably Aluminum. Welding requires patience. You need to pre-heat if it is steel. Then...

    Weepy tire?

I guess afterward your hot tub can double as a refreshing mud bath. :)

    Weepy tire?

Did you check the valve, and the point where the valve meets the rim? Did you actually check the O-ring seal between the split rim?

transporting an Amtech Hardtop, lots of questions

It's just 800 miles. If you want it done right.... Each and every time I use a shipper, something goes sideways.

Driving a personal Humvee on the streets while national guard is deployed in state

Mogman, your words are on point. Thank you. It is at times of crisis that we must remember who we are! We represent the "Free World". We are Democracy. We are Americans. We did not surrender our muskets after the revolution or guns after the Civil War, WW I and WW II. We bought and drove...

Driving a personal Humvee on the streets while national guard is deployed in state

zebedee, glad your wife has joined the effort to help us fight COVID-19, but that has no relevance when it comes to making inflamatory statements about flexing muscles. It is not flexing to drive a legally purchased and restored car or truck. It is just a truck. Please don't mix apples and...

They are not to be called "liberals" or "liberal idiots", as that is not PC nowadays. The more PC term would be "reality challenged, hemp smoking, tree hugging, counterproductive, constitutionally protected citizens" FYI - Not looking for a fight, just performing a public service announcement.

    X-door Scratched "Glass" Fix

I like this thread, and I like the OP posting it, but just to play Devil's Advocate, let me present the following: Unless the inner window plastic is bubbled, it can be polished by a marine shoppe, the same way they polish clear plastic windows on a recreational boat. You can even do it...

No one purchases a HMMWV to be financially responsible.;) Try FleaPay. Several non HMMWV specific there.

That is just beautiful. What a great gal she is. Seems like she's saying that she needs to find ammo. LOL. No doubt it is for a .50 cal. Like BKubu said, Thanks for sharing.

Driving a personal Humvee on the streets while national guard is deployed in state

Like I said above, this whole thread is about giving into fear. I'm sorry but I think this thread is inappropriate. I have a legal right to drive ex-police, ex-firefighter, ex-postal and ex-military vehicles when purchased and insured legally. No virus or other situation should change that and...

My first M998: Fixing her up

There are lots of socks on the market, from what I just researched. If you wanted to go crazy you could weld or braze a "T" fitting onto your unit and then place 2 of those more commonly obtained socks/devices. If you're using Diesel fuel in the USA, I doubt that modification would clog up for...

    ON BOARD AIR?

REF, just to play "Devil's Advocate": CO2 saves weight and is great until it gets empty or leaks and stops being great. You can't recharge it yourself at home. You need to constantly worry if it loses charge. You need to carefully secure it, because if it falls and hits the regulator valve...

Driving a personal Humvee on the streets while national guard is deployed in state

Guys, come on. Would you not drive a black Crown Vic, Ford Explorer, or Dodge Charger because the police were in town? Your license plates are most likely NOT official and as such you are easily identifiable. Once I replace my ruptured power steering line I will be back on the road. Let's...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Please take lotsa' pictures and such. I have the alternator and the mount and the wiring kit and I need to do this. Hoping I might learn from your experience. Good luck!

RWH, any other materials suitable to make a sock? I know you probably wouldn't do that RWH, but the AMG can't be the only manufacturer that used socks?

    Problem with my HMMWY

When I got my HMMWV, my gauges did not work. I got the vehicle from someone who said he rebuilt and fixed most issues prior to sale. Maybe, but I think he was dyslexic. Several items were backwards and such. I went through all gauge cluster wires with a voltmeter and found most of my wires were...

My first M998: Fixing her up

How do you know your tank has a hole in it? My tank leaked, but it was the gasket to the top metal bracket that just needed a quick swap. I drive a similar rig, 1987 M1025A1 with 6.2 and three speed. Now my rig no longer leaks fuel.
