Just finished assembling and welding-up the last four wheels (total of nine). Still have to grind-out the welds on five of them though, and that's the worst part. The four that are done look really nice though. Will probably be at least another week before I have a chance to get them all...
Anybody want to buy this trailer? I think I'm going to build something a little bit smaller. Would like to get $1000 for it (have over $1200 into it, not counting my time). Trailer is in CA right now (95037).
I'm building custom wheels for Mah Deuce right now, and I'd like to be able to run the same wheels on my trailer. Right now that's a modified M353, but I think I'm going to build another, smaller enclosed trailer. Something closer to the size of an M105 with an enclosure. I've seen flatbed...
So, it's wider, and the mounting holes don't line up? Is that it? I couldn't find any deuce hardtops on the west coast for a reasonable price, so I bought a brand new 900 series hardtop, and was planning on cutting it down to the right size (to fit the smaller cab). That should work, right?
11.00R16's would be just about perfect for those trucks if you ask me. We almost bought some of those when there were all those lots up on GL down in Barstow, but the prices went too high. We were going to put 'em on my brother's Dodge Ram.
These are what you REALLY need though.
Like this.
It's the leverage from front-to-back on that drop-hitch that I'd be much more worried about. Jacking up the truck isn't going to stress that crossmember the same way that chaining-up to something solid and giving it a yank would. I'm guessing that crossmember would get twisted-up like a pretzel...
Strykerboy, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but that doesn't looks safe to me. Is the hitch only welded to the bottom lip of that crossmember, or is there some additional reinforcements or gussets that we can't see? If so, that's not a very good way to mount a hitch - because the bottom flange on...
Whoa, sorry to hear about that. Did you buy them from these guys? That's pretty ****ty. Nice wheel/tire combo though. I almost went that route, but ended up buying some Firestone T831's and I'm flipping the center-sections in a bunch of old riveted wheels instead. Post some pics when you get...
I've only seen gear-driven power-steering pump/air-compressor combos. Do they actually make those for V-belt applications? Seems like you'd smoke the belt pretty quick! I'm going to have an LDS power-steering pump in Mah Deuce, but it would be cool to know there's another option out there.
Thanks, but space is at a premium in my truck and trailer, so if I'm looking to consolidate things wherever I can. Realistically, I won't be using air for long stretches of time very often. It's more of a 'need it when I need it' kind of thing. It would be too easy for me to fill my whole...
