While I would rather have a fuel burning heater or a hot water heater in that order, the heater that DEUCEMAN offers is a great alternative. Best of all, while it is the incorrect heater for a deuce, it is still "correct" since I personally owned a truck that came out with a M151 heater...
They are available...if you can find them. They are hard to come by. I just sold a kit to another SteelSoldier member. If for whatever reason it does not sell, I'll repost it.
There really is no comparison between the fuel burning and hot water heaters as others have stated above. I was running the fuel burning heater at Aberdeen this past year and the windshield was literally smoking when rain hit it! Man, that thing was toasty!
You did the right thing, Rob. I take no offense. I'll explain it better over a few brews at Aberdeen...like last year. Maybe, PINKIE can take us on some more midnight off-road runs. Speaking of PINKIE, anyone seen him? He seems to have been AWOL recently.
Here are a couple of pics of where it should mount in the engine compartment of a truck that a fellow SteelSoldier member is selling. Mike Pop, I hope it was OK to borrow your pics off of your listing...
Rob, you have a great point...and it is a point that probably should be addressed. I know I don't check the classifieds and only see the ads that scroll on the right side of the screen...even then, I only catch them by chance...by chance that I look over there. I honestly posted this because...
...an NOS fuel burning heater kit for the rear compartment of a deuce cargo? I do not believe that I have everything to complete the install, but what is there is NOS. I have the following:
Fuel burning heater
Fuel burning heater control
Metal "bird cage" that goes around the heater to...
James, I have to concur with M16TY...don't bother yourself with filing a complain with GL. If you got any satisfaction, you will be the first person that I know of on this forum who has had a positive outcome. They did absolutely nothing for me on one complaint...AND THEY AGREED THAT I WAS...
The M932 that I got previously was a USAF truck and was kept in a hangar. The truck only had rust on the hard top and the rest of the truck was clean sheet metal. This truck did look like it had some corrosion.
Yes, the lunette will fit in the pintle hitch on the back of your truck. I don't know anything about the number of filaments, but I think converting the trailer to 12V is as simple as swapping out the bulbs for 12V bulbs. The only issue you may run into is the trailer is heavy...and may tend...
