Don, make sure you remind the wrecker driver to put the t-case in neutral. Joe Young once had a truck delivered with the t-case in low range! You can imagine all the damage that did.

I hate to say it but being short on cash will make it difficult for you to find rims. I believe they go for $200 each or so. The rims are getting rare. Since you are in OH, I suggest that you call Sam Winer, but, truthfully, I think they are gonna be expensive.

If I remember correctly, they sucked water into the air intake. I think that damaged the motor and caused the ticking sound.

Gillespie makes a good paint. The CARC is cool because it is authentic and for that reason I often use it, but, as a paint covering, it is probably not the greatest. It fades fairly quickly and is easy to scuff. Don't get me wrong...I like the CARC...but Gillespie is good, too.

HOT ROD DEUCE: I wonder if you could remove the rear cat walk and mount a tank beneath it. This is where the tank is mounted on a 5 ton dump. I bet you can fab something up so it will look stock to the casual observer...if you care about that.

Gillespie probably wears a bit better in my experience. The colors are very close.

If you get it for $500, you stole it. It is worth more. Work your way backward from what it is worth if it was running and what it would take to get it there. I bet that truck is worth at least $5K if it was running.

Actually, they were mounted in two locations depending upon the model of your truck. On the M931/M932s (NDCCs), the tank was mounted between the passenger side fuel tank and the mud flap. On the A1 and A2 trucks, it was mounted behind the cab as Joe points out. It depends upon which truck you...

I suggest you get it hauled. There are plenty of trucking companies. PM me for a list of #s. With all of these trucks being driven out, many without tags or insurance, driving these trucks out is a disaster waiting to happen. A couple of lawsuits later, and this hobby will have been changed...

My belief is inline with what a few others have stated earlier...if it is an approved military modification, I am fine with it. If not, it does not go on my trucks. That is my belief and I stick to it. I don't like bobbed trucks and I am not into modified trucks in any way shape or form...
