I have found that many of the auto parts that come with a lifetime warranty guarantees that you will spend a lifetime replacing them. Heater cores seem to be up there.
I wouldn't pack anything big that I couldn't get at a Walmart. They sell a hundred dollar jump box that has an inverter and a bunch of USBs. It's made by Schumacher so decent quality. I've had one for at least 5 years and use it alot. Still on original battery and going strong. Better get a...
I've not priced parts in years but the work is pretty straightforward. I prefer to drop the trans from inside the cab using an engine crane or a stringer from the rear cab wall to the windshield frame and suspend a come a long or very small chain hoist.
MEP014. Generally a 1960s gas genset powered by the 1A08 Military Standard engine. Had the wonderful wrap and hope starter system. They are loud and thirsty but generally tough. Weak point in the 3-10 KW versions was the voltage regulator. They would cook out if the RPMs dropped and of course...
I'm reviving this thread in hopes of adding some info and gleaning some for myself. I recently stumbled across a post by JPG where he stated that he has a Ready Welder II in the M1010 and used a resistor to drop power a bit. I bought one of these that comes with the slave adapter. Do the batts...
Steel utility toppers are heavy but super stout and so very useful. I even use them on my M101 trailers. All of mine are of the tailgate design but I really prefer the panel door design. The roof would be plenty strong to sensibly mount a rack.
Pic 1. Medical caduceus placard goes in that spot. Top bracket is for a flood light.
Pic 2. Connector isn't stock but likely trailer connection. I see a receiver was added as well. U brackets are for a pt boom and the spring clip holds it out of the way. The reverse light was added as were chock...
I can assure you that if that rubber hose is in good condition, I won't get sucked in. I've been around more than a couple of runaways that were shut down by removing the intake cap and flipping it around to block the hole.
That is the fuel pump for the rear compartment heater. Usually comes one when heater is running. Unplug it, you don't need it. Until you sort out your charging system, pack a jump box with you. I can't see any way of keeping things working right just running off that lower alt.
Not exactly paint but I just bought a can of red plasti dip from the local Tru-Value. It was the only thing flat red. Google red plasti dip images. Seems there is a cult following painting cars with this stuff! I used mine on the lockout hubs of the CUCV.
