    before I install this transfer-case...

Yeah, I got the dash switch with it, and I'm planning on re-doing most of the air-lines anyway, so that's no big deal. I'm going to keep the PTO. I've got plans for it. I just wanted to know if it's anything that I should service before I install the case in the truck. Say what now? I just went...

    before I install this transfer-case...

My sprag case blew-up a while ago, and M715 hooked me up with a great deal on an air-shift transfercase with a PTO unit. So now I'm finally getting around to swap and I've got a few questions. I've already dropped the old case, and that went really smoothly, but is there anything I can check...

more questions & ideas related to fording kits

Well, I satisfied my curiosity this afternoon. I replaced one of the 1/4" NPT allen-plugs with a schrader valve, and then used a bike pump to see if the knuckle could hold any pressure. But the silicone boot blew up like a balloon right away, and I hadn't even use enough air pressure to register...

more questions & ideas related to fording kits

Thanks for the suggestion on the exhaust pipe there Srjeeper. I did check with Napa and it was going to run me close to $100 for the two bends that I need. Shopping online, I can get those same two pieces of mandrel-bent tubing for less than $50 (including shipping). After I cut & weld one of...

more questions & ideas related to fording kits

Oh, I forgot the engine intake. I'm going to have a mandrel-bent snorkle made (90-degree bend backwards & angled 45-degrees up, to a 45-degree bend upwards to vertical, to a section of straight pipe that will be capped with a Sy-Klone Series 9000 pre-filter. Not quite sure how tall I'm going to...

more questions & ideas related to fording kits

So, I'm trying to figure out exactly how I'm going to plumb the air pressure / vent lines and I wanted to get some input before I get into this because I'm sure you guys can help me do a better job with this than I'd be able to manage on my own. I'm thinking that I'll run individual 1/4"...

more questions & ideas related to fording kits

Thanks for posting about those m656/xm757 trucks cranetruck! I didn't know that it would ever be desirable to build pressure in the crankcase, but I guess that makes sense. Can you please tell me a little bit more about how that valve on top of the valve cover works? I imagine it's selectable...

    Other types of seats..

I just took the bench seat out of my M109 today so that I can start designing new seat mounts. Still not sure exactly what type of seats I'm going to use, but I'm leaning towards some type of Bajastyle low-back suspension seats (like these). If you're not familiar with them, they're constructed...

My Bobbed Deuce is almost done

I like that rear bumper. Did you straighten/flatten it out, or does it still have the bends in it?

Uber rare deuce shop truck BACK ON EBAY

Yeah, rlt434 got it. Trying to figure out whether I might be able to help him get it up to OR.

    $150,000 for a deuce?

It's pretty easy to spend $150,000 on a custom-built expedition-style motorhome. I don't know anything about the build-quality of that particular vehicle, but expensive parts + paying someone to build it = big money. Not saying it is/isn't worth what he's asking, only that it's all relative. If...

Uber rare deuce shop truck BACK ON EBAY

I'm in the bay area right now, and would be willing to assist with pick-up / delivery. I've got an M109 and a towbar...

    Sprag to Airshift conversion question....

I've got an air-shift TC sitting on the same jack sitting next to Mah Deuce. Gotta make some time to make the swap.

    wastegates / blow-off-valves

Thanks Ken. I don't have any other/better pics, but I'll be able to let you know if you're right when I go pick it up sometime before the end of this month.

That's VERY slick. Thanks for sharing.

M109A3 conversion in progress, setting the standard

LOVE that propane tank mount. Really great use of space. Sounds kind of sketchy until you think about how burly that formed 1/4" plate enclosure must be. I hadn't decided where to mount my propane tanks, but I think I might follow your lead here. I'll probably have the parts laser-cut and...

M109A3 conversion in progress, setting the standard

Nice project mastergunner, but setting the standard? Is that what you're claiming? Are we going to have a SS M109 build-off? I think there are a few of us that might throw comp.

    deuce a/c project

Oh rearry? Might have to look into that... Avenge's alternators still have the advantage of being more modern/universal, so I know I wouldn't have to worry about finding a replacement, but that's pretty cool to know that the 12/24V alternators are available in higher-output versions.

    deuce a/c project

Thanks for the suggestion. That's a good idea, but Avenge's 12V alternator mount will give me 200amps and I'm going to have a big bank of deep-cycle batteries to charge, so I'd like to get the extra juice that dual alternators can offer. If I have a hard time finding another place to mount an AC...
