Respectfully suggest a Growler forum as well.

Yeah. Those things are now being auctioned off and they look pretty cool. I would also like a section on registration and street legality and insurance and such in the stickies to prevent known TOS issues before bad posts crop up.

    Duramax engine swap

You're not realizing that a new radiator will route coolant differently, requiring hoses to be moved. You need to buy the radiator NOW to properly set up the system. All radiators are NOT the same and they ALL route the hoses differently. I don't want to attack you BUT I don't see you as...

Options for removing Red dot AC

I'm installing a Red Dot this summer and can send you my old stuff if needs be and you are able to wait. I have a 6.2 liter engine

    Duramax engine swap

By the time you see the high temps it might be all over. That's the point. It's a shame you just don't wanna get it.

Red paint on front of engine.

Everyone knows red paint lets you go faster. Discovered by Enzo Ferrari. My grandad would also joke that red socks keep your feet warmer in Winter. So maybe winter advantages? I’ve never seen any documentation about red engines before. Best, T

    Lighting system.

All 24V. The great auction site has 'em.

    Duramax engine swap

Bad choice to leave stock rad, as I'm told Duramax needs larger rad or it will overheat and get damaged. By then, "you can't swap it out later". Killing a 5-8K engine to save a few bucks on a rad seems penny wise and pound foolish. Upgrade to 12k axles? Why? You off-roading or pulling...

    Several M998 doubts

You seem to own several cars, so I'm surprised by your questions... Change all rubber hoses and belts. Change all fluids. Replace the batteries. Check pressure all tires. Replace all bulbs. Keep a spare matching PCB in the vehicle. If tires are cracked, replace them. You can't tell me you own...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

It was a joke I’m aware of your setup, hence the joke about a rear view mirror and such. That’s why I put the laughing emojis. Sorry to confuse. t

    HMMWV Hot Rodding Forum?

Not sure about hotrodding BUT it would be nice to have a modification forum where commenting on vehicle mods is not negatively flamed by the purists. It might be nice to have an 'upgrades and crazy crap forum' to talk engine rebuilds and atypical engine swaps and non-OEM turbos and tranny...

Splitting up the TM Modern Conflict Vehicles into vehicle specific threads

Finding technical manuals is sometimes a chore. TM numbers without descriptions, Finding TM's of LMTV when looking for HMMWV, etc... I would like to suggest and even volunteer to split HMMWV from the other manuals AND instead of just listing the TM#, placing the name of the TM such as "Vehicle...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

This way when you look through the rear view mirror to watch oncoming traffic you don't need to see all that stuff. Oh.....Wait......:-Profl [Seriously, shoulder belts lessen abdominal injuries from lap belt only restraints. Speaking as a surgeon who takes trauma call. I would love to try to...

There are several awesome posts regarding battery cut offs and placement of same posted within the last 2 months. A little time and U will find 'em.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Hit the broken left spin drill bit with a high temp highly focuses small flame to get rid of the tempering. Place wet rags around the hole to prevent other metals being affected. Then drill out with a right spin bit.

M1025A2's who bought one of the 8

I though about that, but is it possible these vehicles have 4l80 trannies? Aren't they A2's? A TH400 is 45MPH, but a 4l80 seems more likely to go over 60MPH. That being said. I'm about to break out the popcorn and follow this disaster in the making.

M1025A2's who bought one of the 8

With all due respect and meaning no disrespect, are you guys serious?!? Did you think that any vehicle coming out of military use would be a "creampuff". I know we hear stories about vehicles entering the auctions with brand-new engine blocks and brand-new parts however these are Vehicles that...

M1025A2's who bought one of the 8

not a good idea. Buying a military vehicle or any vehicle that is used and over 10 years old and thinking that you can drive halfway across the country safely does not make sense. About a year ago, someone on this form what a military vehicle from a California dealership that specializes in...

    Advice in buying a Humvee

Go to the stickies section (top section of this forum) and look for the LEO/FD section and read. Lots of good information there.
