I've only been to a handful of GL/DRMO sites, but I'd say that the staff generally don't care what happens to the trucks. That definitely is a generalization as I have not been to many sites. I've seen where employees shove the trucks around with forklifts, pick them up with...
Here is the problem with GL...they have a monopoly on selling the stuff that we want. Anytime a company has a monopoly on something, there is no reason to worry about the customer because they have no where else to go. Competition in a market usually leads to better products and better...
Be careful...I had a truck that was damaged after the pictures were taken and the vehicle was inspected. They denied my claim because I took the trucks (in other words, I removed the trucks before I filed the claim). They also said that the trucks were not moved from their location, but they...
If the truck runs well, that is the only thing that matters. A friend of Joe Young's has over 275K miles on his M1009. I don't know about getting that kind of miles out of an M1009, but it should be good for years to come if you take care of it. It might be that your truck ran better than the...
Hi, does anyone know where I can find the straps that go under the bed of a drop side to secure the top bows while they are not in use? I would prefer new straps if possible.
Thanks!
RE: Re: RE: Chambersburg dueces
So, they want us all to drop a bid to keep track of what things are bringing. It sounds like a convenient way to increase prices.
You need to make sure that the USMC even used that truck. I don't think they did. So, if you are striving for accuracy, there may not be anything that accurately represents a USMC M35A3. As a matter of fact, I am almost positive that the Marines did not use that truck. Check with HALFTRACK...
Bill, if you are going through the trouble of making racks, might I suggest using fiberglass racks. The fiberglass wears much better than the wood. You'll never have to replace them again!
For some strange reason, if you don't bid on an item, GL deletes them so you can't see the results of the auction. I am sure it is just another questionable business practice that GL has decided to adopt. When you have a monopoly, as GL has on the selling of trucks/etc, you can do what you...
Bill, I truly hope you can find that stuff. The 5 ton dump stuff is tough to find. I have to believe the 2-1/2 ton dump stuff is next to impossible. Nice looking truck in your avatar, though.
As Mike said, disregard the condition code. I just got two trucks that had come through complete overhauls...one had 75 miles...and they were listed as GX.
I personally know two dealers that sell both the Dodge mid-70s trucks and the CUCVs and they would take a Dodge in similar condition over a CUCV any day of the week...no questions asked. The Dodges have a bad reputation, but I don't think it is deserved. I've driven one...never have owned...
RE: meaning
I am sure someone will chime in to correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the deuce should be 8 with the C for combination (meaning you are towing a trailer) or 6 without a trailer. I know I've seen a circled 6 on many deuce doors over the years.
Perhaps, I have an original key and you have a duplicate. Or, maybe, the unit that had my truck decided they did not want everyone making keys so they had them marked to indicate that they should not be duplicated. I don't have the key anymore...the truck is long gone...but it definitely had...
