Need help Identifying this frame CUCV m1008

Doesn’t the CUCV frame have more holes in the ends for the tie down extensions? I forgot.

Need help Identifying this frame CUCV m1008

Yes he is correct. If you see tan or green paint overspray on anything then you can be extra sure.

    Installing a PTO Winch on a M35A2

Oh it’s easy to install, just a bolt on. Only tricky part is getting the gear lash right when bolting the PTO to the transmission. Transfer case is untouched.

Isn't your $60K truck in a garage? My 1025 sure is.

1045 A2 with Hydraulic Line's Leaky Quick Connect Fitting

Can’t you reach through the blades and uncouple it, then fish it out where you can replace it? I kinda forgot.

    Worth saving 12 bolt rims?

Have to dismount the tires anyway to send them to recycle. No big deal.

Just got USMC M38a1…could it have been in Air Force?

What seemed to happen is this: USMC orders say 20,000 M38A1 Jeeps from Kaiser. Then someone at DoD says “Air Force needs 1000 of them, divert the shipment”. Then Air Force has a depot paint them strata blue and off they go to flightlines. This would happen before USMC ever even had a...

Just got USMC M38a1…could it have been in Air Force?

Wow that is very original and unmolested. Quite possible the USAF had it. Heaters are a AF thing, USMC just froze and LIKED IT. Never seen that engine color before on an Army or USMC Jeep. The serial number on the engine matched the vin from the factory, but quickly became disassociated when...

    1942 MB with fiberglass tub

That is encouraging. Consider getting a steel reproduction body kit quoted and subtract that amount from $10k and offer under that.

    1942 MB with fiberglass tub

I personally would pass on this. You need more information to decide. Is the engine and frame correct for a '42 MB? If those are CJ2A parts then $10K is way out of line. If this is local to you, see if the frame has the machine gun mount which means WWII frame. See what the engine serial...

    1942 MB with fiberglass tub

OK I will chime in. The seller is saying "everything else is MB", That is incorrect. I see a T-90 transmission (should be T-84), wrong: Bumper, bumperettes, windshield, wheels, rear seat, taillights, carb, BO light. Missing: Fuel filter, generator/regulator, shovel/axe brackets...

    M34 Active duty

My speculation: the M34s were the absolute first trucks to roll off the assembly line in 1950. Soon thereafter, the design was switched to the M35. The very early nature of the M34, plus low production numbers, plus heavy use by the Army resulted in them being “used up” and didn’t have much...

    Cummins PT pump questions

Injection pumps need to go to an injection pump rebuild shop. Supply the CPL number from the engine tag to the rebuilder.

    M34 Active duty

Yeah I think GMC dug into the archives for that design that they applied to the new Sierra pickups. The super early hydramatic GMCs had that tailgate as well.

    New Project

Very nice truck! My 916 that came direct from DRMO has a white transfer too. Some rebuild depot somewhere must use white paint.
