Filter gauge near the red line with even a new filter is the norm for these trucks, or at least the A2's. It is a poor design. I am also wanting to try the no-filter run, as I believe the filter CFM rating is less than the engine lungs. Not sure if the smaller diameter filter helps, hurts, or...
WildChild467 said he is open to painting anybody's truck for $950 plus paint, if brought to his place. I think that is a tremendous deal. I would have paid that had I not known him. Anybody interested should get a hold of him. He said 2.5T or 5T same price.
The data plate on mine says 8 degrees. That is the same data plate that has the ESN, so I wouldn't expect a different answer unless I am missing something.
The Cummins dealership by me said they would advance the timing to the maximum amount allowed per my engine CPL. Upon calling them...
There is an M939 LWS hardtop in the SS classifieds right now (MI). Not cheap, but if you have to have it, it looks to be a factory piece.
I added storage and tool boxes to my 925A2 bed that do not interfere with the troop seats. Check my posts under "What have you done to your 5 ton this...
I'd go dollars to donuts that one of the neighbors that approached you and talked about the truck was the person to submit the complaint. You can't find out unless you know somebody in the city system. Neighbor came up, said it was cool, asked if it is a friends or yours, and once you said it...
Your charge air cooler looks great. Let us know which one it was, looks like it fits like a glove. Also, how did you attach it? Looks like it bolts to the radiator tanks, but I must be seeing it wrong. Any hood closure issues or does it fit?
On the timing, I have a Cummins dealer that says...
WildChild467's Work
WildChild467 is an M35A2 member, but he took it upon himself to paint my 925A2 for me. All I did was drop it off at his house. Just wanted to show off his work and give a shout out to his abilities and fabulous job. You guys are lucky to have him in your dugout. Thanks...
I see I'm not the only one who bought the Harbor Freight magnetic cup holder (toolbox section of store). At least you painted yours green, mine is still red.
Interesting, thanks for the quick math. So the M35A2 trans must be OD in top gear. None of those speeds are really worth the work. I could possibly hook to the M35A2 trans. I believe the 6-71 is governed to 2600rpm. That with an addition of 11.00's may work. Not sure if the trans could...
LDT/S is 48" long, 41" tall, and 1600lbs. Source: http://www.boyceequipment.com/#!engines/c18ta
6-71 is 56" long, 52" tall, and 2200lbs. Source: http://www.barringtondieselclub.co.za/detroit/6-71detroit.html
I think the length is do-able, but the height of almost a foot taller is huge by the...
The 7 speed Spicer is 1:1 in top gear, and is not a narrow case. It is what came in the OTR truck, which was a 1982 C9500 GMC tandem axle tractor. No aux boxes on the rear of trans. Not sure if the tandems had anything, no switches on the shift lever.
You guys need to think more...
So, I don't belong in the 2.5 forum because I only owned one for a week and had the chance to double my money on it, so I did. But it was a total riot, and I wanted more of it. With that, I went and bought an M925A2. But, upon doing so, I met a fellow enthusiast (WildChild467) that is fairly...
