The PLASTIC TOOL is exactly the item I recall and had described.
Here's the CANNON CONECTOR Overview Brochure.... In the intro there is an interesting timeline of connectivity development.

Some styles of Insertion/Extraction Tools...
Yes, those pins have what is called SOLDER CUPS on the wire end of the pin. It's best NOT to do any soldering with the pins inserted in the rubber block. The heat transfer is not healthy for the weatherproof flexibility of the rubber stuff.
They DO make a TOOL for properly removing the pins...
Bummer.
Contrary to popular belief, that is NOT a "new and improved" aerodynamic design. It may even increase your drag by a factor of 0.00000001 or so.
Congratz on clearing that hurdle.
One question remains... Are you now willing to defend your victory.
IF your Code Officer's actions were the result of a neighbor's complaint then "the fight" may not be over.
As a matter of due diligence your should now visit your City's website and if...
Drew,
To follow your detour from the OP's topic....
While closing some threads that go dormant sounds like a great idea.... there are many "technical" threads that can be revived with the invaluable benefit of old established thread subscribers with knowledge of how they tackled the topical...
Sir, my post was neither intended to offend you, nor meant to be stated in the singular "you", but the plural "Y'all" as we would say in Texas. I apologize for that miscommunication.
Therefore, I have edited my post to very specifically be plural and generic in its broadcast.

Unfortunately, the taillights from the firetruck stayed on the bed that they retained, and...
You might ask your Code Enforcement Officer (CEO) if there are parallel ordinances allowing "Special Interest Vehicles" in residential areas. Here in San Angelo, the Code of Ordinances on the surface appear to prohibit LARGE MV's. HOWEVER, with the TxFMV registration, they become "Special...
The 2015 Carnac Cross-Country Tour - CARNAC UNPLUGGED.
I remember when I surrendered my access and clearance.... I no longer had my finger on the pulse of world events and international affairs. Sometimes it's better to not know what goes on behind the scenes.
Anti-corrosion Zinc Chromate etching on an aluminum surface CAN make it look like brass or similar to the "Gold Chain" now required for hoisting operations.
I seem to recall another thread that spoke of a Deuce with brake assemblies OUTBOARD of the wheel. I'm not sure if it was a dedicated thread or just some posts within a thread. Maybe someone else will remember where that discussion is posted.
Isn't the English language such fun to play with?!?!?
I don't know how many times I have had to explain just why a military truck with a cross-country load rating of 2-1/2 Tons is called a Deuce and a Half, or DEUCE for short.
I suppose some people don't know how to play the game (of English...
This is probably just one frame from a high speed camera filming at a rate of 1,000 frames (or more) per second. They simply picked out the most dramatic frame to publish as a still shot.
