If so the fuel shutoff solenoid may be hung open (see pic). Note the solenoid with the rubber boot and the silver thing sticking out of it. This is controlled by the battey switch.
These things will de-energize and not allow fuel to get to the...

I picked up a mixed lot at Redstone and in the bunch was this kit that goes on a HUMVEE.
There are instructions as to how to assemble it but it's not shown attached to a vehicle so I can reference it's intended use.
I assembled one of them and it looks like they could be adapted to other...
You might consider using the sleeper off of an over the road truck.......if you cut an opening in the back of the cab the sleeper should mate to it using the gasket that SCSG-G4 referenced.
The big walk in sleepers are very roomy and many already have creature comforts installed.
If you don't mind going slow it is possible to graft a civy crew cab into a deuce frame....think crew cab Internationals and such.......quieter ride, more comfort but still a toad in the road when traveling the interstates.
