You could also consider other higher hp engines besides the ISX, such as a Detroit 8V92, Series 60, or Cummins 400hp 855. They can be had for a more reasonable cost, but they are all heavyweights that add a lot of mass over an 8.3L.
If you still want more after you have turned the fuel up, I'd suggest installing a used Cummins ISX 15L. It would be a lower cost and more reliable path to 500hp once you have the 6CTA8.3 at the 300hp mark. Additional power increases beyond fuel rate increasing is best found on tractor pulling...
Maybe I think you are mistakenly calling your 923A2 a Deuce?
The answer to your question is in the pages of this thread. Grab your favorite drink and go at it. Let us know if you have further questions after doing so.
I want a one piece double row LED light bar to go across the windshield top of my M925A2. Nobody I could easily find makes them in 74" or so. Their prices have fallen on eBay, so I bought two 54" ones, and disassembled them. Welding the housing together, then having a one piece lens made...
Your truck has something wrong if you can only get 40/45mph out of a 923A2. My 925A2 (same engine) hits 67mph consistently up against the engine governor (2150rpm or so) on flat level ground, and my engine and fuel system are totally untouched stock (as far as I believe). That would be a...
A snatcher cuts the line length in half, and electric winches don't have a huge spool to begin with. I had my 925A2 stuck in several feet of mud, the closest tree was 190' away, and there is 200' of cable on the spool. Even so, the 20,000lb hydraulic winch pulled it out effortlessly with the...
I'll have some starters and alternators, in both 12V and 24V. Starters are new efficient, small, gear reduction type, and will fit NHC 250, 6CTA8.3, or LDT/S with change of pinion done at table before you leave. They pull 50 amps less current than the ones they replace, and weigh almost 1/2...
:funny:
I have to give you credit, boner. I used your line in this thread.
My 9 scaled at 23,500lbs at a scrap metal yard, just before I ran over a car somebody dropped off [M925A2]. Few inches of wet snow on the hood and in the bed. Yep, fuel tank was likely less than 1/8th tank...
I did not read all the responses this time, and shame on me, but basically the 12V wire goes to the + of the "first" battery, which is the battery that has the large - cable on it. This is really also the same as connecting it to the - of the second battery, which has the large + cable on it...
The 9 series utilizes a 12V lead from the battery bank, and it even goes through the dash switch to shut it off (if you want). 12V is already under the dash for the heater blower "Lo" function.
