Does anyone know where I can find an M973A1, more commonly known as an SUSV (Bv202 in Sweden...I believe that is correct)? I am only interested in the diesel variant and it has got to be in nice condition; I don't want a project vehicle. I might be selling a truck and I'd like to put some of...
The CTIS parts are very hard to come by and expensive if you can. I was quoted $1000 per wheel to replace everything!
I own two M925A2s and I love them. They are every bit as good as the earlier trucks...possibly better (arguably).
I'd still say there is a slight chance that these trucks will come up. There were a number of M818s, M813s and M35s at Letterkenny that were marked...HOLD - MOROCCO. Those trucks sat there for several years and eventually at least some of them came up at auction.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Who made M35A2
Joe, that is a beautiful truck, but I strongly doubt it is a mid-80s truck. First, as Mark (EMMADO22) stated, it does not have the stone grill. This was standard on all later trucks. Also, it has the space for the electric horn. I'd say this is an older...
I have 1100 Michelin XLs on one deuce and it digs through mud very well. I know some others prefer other tires...or even bigger tires, but I love the XLs. The truck came from the military with these tires on it.
Andy, with regard to the hubs, if you can't touch them, they are too hot!
Yes, 80/90 in the axles, trans, and t-case. Is the GL synthetic? I don't use synthetic oil...nothing against it...just never did. Is there something against mixing it with non-synthetic?
RE: prices
Andy, if I remember correctly you paid in the $3000-3500 range. That was not too bad...I think you did fine. $6K for one of these trucks on the next sale was too high considering the guy will have $7K in when he gets it home. The days of the sub-$2K mid-80s deuces is gone. The...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: WTB M816 Wrecker Western Michigan area
Contact HALFTRACK...I believe he was selling his, but I am not sure. His is solid green and is MINT!
With the newbies bidding things up these days, trust me, they will go high! I am watching today's auctions and it shocks me what they'll pay. I wish I could get their contact information. It sometimes seems as though people want to pay more on GL than they do through other retail avenues.
RE: M35a2c
Those blue data plates on the dash are not specific to USAF trucks; the blue data plate is a warranty data plate. To my knowledge, they are on every mid-80s deuce. I got one of the trucks on an earlier sale...when they did not go so crazy price-wise (I got my truck for $1800)...my...
I've seen maybe five HEMTTs on GL over the years. They ranged from a wrecker with a broken boom that ran to a cargo that was rolled. The rolled truck was probably only good for parts. The best way to get a HEMTT is to build one. There are a few parts trucks in CO (on another post) that could...
It has been done before...talk with M35TOM on this list. He built the Millenium Reo. It had a CAT motor and, I believe, an auto tranny. I am not sure on the tranny. Tom is a heck of a mechanic.
