Hope this is in the right section, since it is pertaining to installation of a factory option:
Seeking opinions and the installation manual for converting an M925A2 from coolant heat to the 30k fuel fired arctic heater for the cab. I have seen these heaters installed under hood in the location...
The original alternators have marginal quality, even after a rebuild. The above mentioned Delco conversion will likely prove to add some reliability and at a much lower cost, so as long as you are not going for originality, it could be a win-win.
Depending on what you want for a 12V system...
We just had a presentation on this from Timken. They mentioned there should be approx 0.003" of movement in the hub when pushed in/out at final adjustment. They said as the bearing heats, this play becomes almost zero. If one starts with zero play, this then becomes tighter and can tear up...
Can you just rent a car, drive it there, and drive the MV back? Taxi from rental place to MV pickup. If I was closer I'd he all about helping, but I'd want to drive the MV, not the F-series!
The restrictive part of the after cooler is the heat exchanger core. If that portion is simply removed, I don't see why your buddy would have to fab up a different intake. All the work is already done, just use the existing intake, sans heat exchanger core.
Right on with all the above. From the limited I have read on the tractor pulling site about the 8.3L, it seems once you up the power and really get air moving into the intake, the aftercooler core becomes a restriction to air flow, so, suggestion is to run an intercooler up front, and then a...
It sounds like you have what you need.
Circuit breakers and fuses protect wiring. That is their sole purpose. They do not protect the end device, as the device is usually the cause. The circuit breaker or fusing should coincide with the rating of the wiring of the device.
Just acquired a medium duty tow bar for my M925A2. Considering to mount in on the vehicle in some type of storage configuration, so it is readily available when needed.
Looking for ideas of what others have done, search didn't find much, but maybe my keywords suck. Since the tube portion...
Just a personal opinion separate of this help thread but still to the OP: I would plug in the CTIS controller and see if it works. It just may. The CTIS in my truck works perfect, and even held up a tire on inflation when I ran over a car at the scrap metal yard and broke the valve stem off on...
Hey TMG, any update on this? I'm ready to buy something for my 925. Even if just an empty box with mounting brackets, I could fill it with my own lights and handle the switches/relays.
Added a 12V slave port, mostly to jump my own cars/boats/whatever's if dead. Will connect to one battery and label it as 12V. My slave cable has a NATO single pin on one end, and heavy duty alligator clips on the other, as I don't own any other MV's or gen sets, but the clips would work if...
Your timing is coincidental. I just cut in my reverse lights and back-up alarm to my M925A2 last night. I went with 4" grommet mount 24V LED's. Did the Allison reverse pressure switch on the trans also. Will have 2 switches in dash, each with 3 positions for the back up lights and reverse...
