Glad it worked out for you. I took a SF-97 to my tax office yesterday to register a M101A2. They had a new girl there and I started off by telling her I wasn'y trying to be mean or anything, but I really need to deal with Ms. so and so because I have a different kind of registration. She smiled...
We had the Scout "Report to State" parade in Austin this past weekend. I used the M35A2 to flat tow the M35 Gasser just like I did last year. Last year, the 60 mile drive was super easy. If it wasn't in my mirror, I wouldn't have know the Gasser was back there once I got up to speed. This year...
It was indeed fun and big. Sorry I couldn't do lunch with everybody, but having the wife and mother along as well as my Scouts all at the staging area really had me going too many directions at once.
wldrbob,
I have a 1952 M35 Gasser with a OA331 engine and 11.00x20 NDT tires. I have put several thousand miles on it in the past few years. I record my fuel use. Anytime I drive more than 35-40 mph, I get 4.6-5.3 mpg. That is all that needs to be said about getting out and trying it...
You can also just run the fuel supply to the flame heater over to the injector return line. Which is where the un used fuel for the flame heater goes anyway. That way you won't have any loose hoses under the hood.
On a side note. I got a spare nozzle so I could try the o ring fix on my...
My 1952 cab which was surplused out of the military around 1958 according to the story I got from the last owner had no braces on the front of each doorway. It has smaller ones on the rear.
My 1953 which came out of the military at the same time has the full brace. My 1953 or newer...
Colton and I will be there. M35A2 camping/towing unit and M715 for playing.
Hey, we are down to $80 per family unit already. We just need around 20 more people.
I will have some this weekend when both M35's go to Austin for the annual Scout parade. I will just tell all the kids to look the other direction or something.
I drove by the place Saturday. There are two drive ways next to each other with gates. The Northernmost is an oil least entrance and has a red election sign on the fence. The Southern most has a black sign with Brazos Valley off road on the gate.
I saw all of this while driving by at 70...
I had knee surgery waayyy back when and found at the time that the Chevy full size trucks had the perfect angle at the floor board to sit with my knee comfortable. I still think that model truck is the most comfortable to sit in with a bad knee.
heh, heh, you wrote "hour a week." Between the Pack and the Troop I haven't spent less than 5 hours a week in years. That doesn't even count stuff like camp outs and other events that happen just about every other week it seems. Plus the week of work vacation time I spend going to summer camp...
We put some pictures on the public portion of the Scoutlander site and the local Council threw a fit. The pictures are all in the password only part of the site now. I never looked up the exact policy. Maybe it is just somebody in Austin that needs a life.
You are correct about leave no trace. It didn't really matter in this case because we were on a privately owned ranch. The area we camped and drove through used to be a big Coastal patch. It has layed dormant for the past few years and to get it back to producing, will have to be root plowed...
I think every -10 manual for any mv has a page or so about how the rear black out lights let you tell distance. See one of them for the exact details. Here is my version since I don't have a manual at work with me right now.
The black out markers on the rear of each vehicle have 4 little...
Or, just pull the studs with a stud puller. My Gasser steering arm was very stubborn and no sledge helped. I pulled the studs in about 5 minutes. Of course, this was after I wasted an hour or more beating on the darn thing.
I am a Boy Scout leader. We had a campout last weekend. The Scouts have gotten used to me driving the M715, M35 A2 or M35 Gasser to the meetings and camping in either the back of a M35 or in a M105 trailer. They actually like it because I don't waste time seting up my tent and can help them...
I will jump in here as well. My 1952 Gasser M35 runs great, will out run the multi fuel on flat level ground and fires right up like it wants to go do some work. I redid started with a new engine though. Hills make it slow way down.
This engine and truck combination were designed to haul...
The TH400 is a 3 speed non overdrive transmission. Check your fluid level in the transmission. If it is low, then check your vacuum module on the rear of the transmission. It could have failed, causing your shift problems and be sucking fluid out.
