In chapter 10-3 I think. That is if the 931 is same or similar to the M813. They call those wedges "bushings"
Do you have the wedge collars out? [can't remember what the TM calls them] They would be right under the nuts you took off. I usually whack the side good and that will loosen them up, then use a small chisel in the slot to spread slightly. I just did both sides of M813.
If you do have the...
Picked up our winnings yesterday at Cherry point. All went well except the directions to the place aren't very good.
The GL employees [David and Randy]that helped us were very nice and we were only there a few minutes, loaded and gone.
So, if you win anything at Cherry point, its not real hard...
I drove them when I was in the Marines. Your right they will do alot, especially with air let out of tires. We put them through alot really. Never driven easy. Guess those were my 6 wheeling days. Would only do it now if had to. But still enjoy watching everyone else.
Wow, you guys are tough, mine once got scratched by a bug..I made short work of repairing that damage. :driver:
Just making fun of you guys, I just cant put mine through that. I would if I needed to, but the need has never came around. I find it interesting all the ways people use theirs and...
I was nervous driving our duece just 110 miles home when we bought it. We took tools, fluids everything we could think of. I even told friends who have a tow company what I was doing in case I needed them to come get me. I still didnt like it.
You guys can keep that part of the adventure.
Would have been close ride for you to stop by Pocomoke fair grounds. Hottducks M923 was there and our M813 and M35.
Yeah, the yard in Denton had at least a dozen M35s, a couple M109s as well as 2 decent M818s. All crushed. They told me all those at the other yard are gone as well. :(
Dont know didnt ask. Guess I should have, maybe call them and ask. Had chain and cable and pto, all there.
Matt, you should have came up for jeep week. Was fun untill the massive rain. The fair grounds at Pocomoke was a blast, some crazy people.
Jeffhuey1n, thanks for info.
Nope no longer have military ID, couldnt even find the old one [way to long ago].
My son and I always like to look at stuff of course. Planes, trucks, ships, tanks etc. So when we go somewhere we always look around to see whats open to the public. Legally of course...
Sorry for not putting Eastern shore of Md in the post. I would imagine he would sell those, as the truck is very rough and Im sure will be crushed.
Shultzs salvage, Denton Md. Will come up if you google it.
All good advice. When we went to Ft Meade to get the 813, I told my friends at the tow Company to make sure of everything. Even sent them a list of what was required. They put everything together in a little bag, all needed info for the tractor and trailer. Everything went off without a hitch...
Well found out the answer to my own question.
In case anybody else was wondering. GL will be your sponser [at least at Cherry point MCAS]. I pretty much thought they would but who wants to go there un-prepared?
On those bases that say "call and request a sponser" will GL be your sponser? Or does the base handle this themselves? I have only been to Meade so far and didnt require a sponser there to load out. Some of the other sites I looked at have this in the security info. Cherry point being the one I...
Very intersting. I was stationed at 29 palms Ca, in the early 80's. I was assigned to a unit that controlled all the live fire exercises. I drove Col. Christmas on a tour of the training grounds. His battalion was coming for training and he wanted to check out the training grounds. If anybody...
I sure hope you guys are right about the poor maintenance. I hate us giving them our equipment. Don't even like giving them some old M35's but M1's and F16's takes the cake.
If anybody is looking for a winch for their M35, Shultzs salvage yard in Denton has a nice one. Truck is not in great shape but winch looks ok. Has cable and chain. They used to have about a dozen M35s but all have been scraped now. There are 2 trucks there now both in rough shape so I'm sure...
We've had our .50 [replica] out 3 times and so far so good. We did make a solid orange cap that screws in the barrel for when we take in town [Ocean City] Stopped right next to 3 police officers and they didnt say a word. So far so good.
