Very well put. Where I work we have a pretty large fleet. About 2000 vehicles with several hundred F550's. Of all the engines in them, 7.3, 6.0, 6.4, 6.7..the 6.0 was/is the worst for maintenance.
But its your truck and still cool if you put something different in it, if your into that kind of...
I asked a question about tires. There were 11 lots for sale, all with the same picture of new, never used tires. My question was do all the lots look the same as those pictured. I got an answer from them that said yes all look the same with stickers still in the middle of the tread. They also...
If you need to do 75mph on the highway and haul a big load and put 350 miles a week on it, buy a commercial truck. Just my 2 cents worth of course. Will get better fuel economy, less maintenance etc.
As for my duece, have never had over 50. Like Wildchild 467 says, ours likes 47 mph. Just less...
Wow, that guy did have some stuff. Looking through the pictures that thing caught my eye as well. Wonder what he used it for? Maybe just hauling stuff around the farm.
Weren't the Koreans licensed to build the M35A2?? Think I read that somewhere. I bought a windshield for my duece from Eriks and it has made in Korea sticker on it. Fit perfect though. The outside of the cab in those pictures look just like a M35.
great pics, thanks for posting them
I changed my duece and 5 ton from Army trucks to Marine corps trucks.
I marked them like our trucks were marked, which compared to the Army have very little markings on them. Just USMC and the truck #.
I really think you can mark them how you see fit. Its your truck!
The GL directions to the base were completly off, I used mapquest instead. Also once on base the number of the building they send you to, is not the building GL is in. Its behind that building. No big issues really, just a little running around looking for it. It was a 13 hour round trip for us...
I like the drive on lift. I have a 10,000 lb Bendpac like the other lift in your shop. Wont do much with the duece though! But sure beats working on the floor on everything else.
Nice shop too. Thanks for pics.
Awesome you got it up and running again, but the mechanic in me wants to know whats wrong with the old one. I'm thinking like willwagner towards the head gaskets. Anything strange can happen of course.
Wow..a PRC-77. My back seems to remember hauling that around for like 4 years!! Of course we mounted them on M151's and M35s, but they were all just straped in. For permanent vehicle radios we used MRC110 and 109's.
Think I'll start looking for one, just for old times sake!
Its amazing how much...
All great advice.
Actually I clamp to the lock on the vise base. Its clamping the back half and the bottom of the base together so it doesnt go through the threads.
I know its good to take precautions, but there is no need to worry over it. Just take the normal precautions, ground close to your...
Same here have welded on it many times without disconnecting, but good advice would be to unhook ground cable off battery. Place ground clamp from welder as close to work as possible. Like someone said there isn't much in the way of electronics on these trucks.
Modern trucks have half a dozen...
I hit them from the side, or the edge of the steering plate. Spray some PB blaster or something on them if rusty. They will loosen, then a small chisel in the slot and they will spread and slip right off stud. OTC makes special pliers for them but a small chisel works very well.
Crasheej is...
