    pto shaft on m715

You are right Chris. The two bolt holes in the middle of the alternator mount are where it bolts too. The picture in response to this same question on the Zone almost shows that.

    Need towbar advice/info

Agree on the offered tow bar deal. As far as towing something small behind the Duece, don't worry about it. Run some 24 volt lights to the back of the baby Jeep, use safety chains and stop every 100 miles or so to make sure it is still back there. A member here was flat towing his M725 from...

    Caption contest

Adam, do you have any plans for the steering wheel? I guess I should ask if it has any cracks and which style of horn mount first? Then ask if you have plans for it? What about inside the cab heater stuff? That is the kind of picture that makes highway enforcement officers drool thinking...

    pto shaft on m715

I don't have a picture, but I have a complete shaft in my shop that was pulled off a year or so ago. The front bearing bolted to the lower drives side of the engine, just above the oil pan. Are you using a stock engine? I can measure shaft distances from the pto up and the winch end back...

    Need a new radiator

PM Ziggy, he had a few NOS ones still sealed up in the wrappers last time I talked with him.

    Two Questions

If you don't have a 9/16" allen wrench. Take a 3/8" bolt and nut which have 9/16" hex heads on them and weld them solid. Then stick the bolt in the tank and use a regular 9/16 wrench to turn it with the welded nut. If you are in a hurry, a 3/8" bolt with a pair of vice grips works too.

    E-Bay Wiring Harness

The KCGOnzo "complete" harness is a front harness for a M35. It is meant for the old non solid state blinkers and 25 amp generator and flame heater on the intake of the diesel. It is not a complete harness, not for a gasser and not for any truck equiped with solid state blinkers. Unless...

    715 in Canada?

Hey Al. I haven't seen you in a few years. The truck is looking great. Glad you are still messing with it. That welting I got from you is still keeping my windshield from scratching my hood. Thanks again.

    E-Bay Wiring Harness

I called Saturn back in the fall and asked if they had any rear harness for a M35 no matter what year. They guy laughed at me on the phone. He said they haven't had a front or rear M35 wiring harness in years. I used the harness already mentioned in this thread for the front and a M818 rear...

Much Progress on the Gasser this Weekend

I was at a teacher conference most of last week. When I got home Friday, I basically came into the house and fell asleep. So, I was well rested and ready to work on the Gasser all day Saturday and most of today. Wheel #10 got painted, headlight plates, rings, trim, front bumper again, B/O...

    Copper or Plastic air lines?

Plastic on a M35 running just from the firewal area to the horn should be no problem. replacing all the copper lines with plastic could be a problem. I put a York compressor on my M715, M35 tanks under the bed and ran DOT plastic lines between them. It would fill the tanks up, let me use it...

    Bellhousing issue

RE: Re: RE: Bellhousing issue Pistolnut found the adaptor plates and Sermis found the bellhousings. Now, they can both do this swap. We have also figured out that the NP200 10 spline input yoke is just a hair or rather a good WHACK with a BFH from fitting onto the output shaft of the 3053A...

    Blinker question

A solid non blinking light at the blinker arm and nowhere else is almost always a bad solid state blinker box. I have one doing the same thing right now.

Look! Door and a windshield frame

I have modified your steps above to this: See phillips screw head and start thinking bad thoughts while I walk over to my 4th harbor freight impact driver in the last 3 months. ($4.00 with 3 exchanges so far at no cost.) Grab the biggest hammer I have that will fit the area the screw is in...

    leaking speedo adapter HELP!

Are you sure it is the adaptor leaking and not the t-case? The adaptor has a female fitting on each end. The t-case has a double ended male adaptor screwed into it. If that double male fitting is loose, then it will look like your speedo cable adaptor is leaking when it isn't. Plus, there...

M44 headlight doors.. how many different styles are there?

I know my 1965 series of manuals deals with both air and electric horn mounts and trouble shooting. I am pretty sure the 1976 series has info on both as well. That doesn't really answer your question, but look at it this way. Gasser engines were replaced around 1958 and the 1965 manuals are...

Look! Door and a windshield frame

All 3 of my Gasser windshield frames have the wiper in the middle of the drivers side and ofset on the passenger side. Here is the truck 2 weeks ago after I got the glass and front fenders on. I lost all of last week with having to put a new clutch in the M715 and the weekend was full of a Cub...
