Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy.:cookoo:
Lots of good folks in your neck of the woods.
The GA Rally is in Oct. Join the convoy that will be headed up from FL and have a weekend of good folks, good fun, good food and more MV's than you can shake a stick at.
It does have 900X20 tires on it....good tires that will be transferred to the rear of the M275.
I was planning to make a lowboy out of it by adding a beaver tail onto it. Someone on here did one while back and it looked good. I was going to pull it with the M275.
The issue with that is...
I'll put your name on it.
The bitten dog barks first. You have first dibs.
I still owe you for the deuce rims so we can do a discount on the above price.
It would have a high center of gravity by the time you put the mechanics between the frame and the bottom of the rail system. You would also need a hydrolic system to operated it.
I have driven roll off trucks and they get squirrly when heavily loaded.
You might consider swappable bodies...
As much as I would like to see it smelted in the US I have no illusions that it will.
Krupp Steel is building a big plant in south Alabama....maybe some of our scrap will be sent there instead of overseas. ThyssenKrupp Steel USA, LLC
It is ironic that the steel from Krupp of Germany built...
I am somewhat confused as to what you are asking.
Do you mean a hook and lift system like on a Palletized Loading System truck (where a load is lifted and dragged up on the back of the truck).
Or do you mean a hook and lift as in a wrecker?
Or do you mean a lifting device on the front...
Yes.
Tires are 900X20....they will be swapped over to the M275. The tires on it will be on the block at the rally unless someone comes by here and snags them first.
That depends on how much aggravation they are to remove.......if it goes well I'll take $300.00 or interesting...
I am scrapping the trailer that came out from under the Expando Van.
If anyone wants the spare tire carrier or the landing legs let me know before Saturday....that's when it will start its slow ride to China.
Cage all of the brakes and (very carefully) see if she will move.
If it won't the S cams have prob malfunctioned.
I'm not a mechanic but it's not a hard fix for someone versed in air brake systems.
If anyone is interested there is one near me mounted on a dual wheel genny trailer.....the old boy that owns it has several MV's (mostly M151 varients) but he is not one of "us".
He offered it to me for 800 bucks for the whole nine yards.
PM if interested and I'll try to get a hold of him.
When I was growing up there were two ice houses in our area.....they used an amonia refrigeration system to freeze the huge blocks of ice. They would sell you a whole block or chip off smaller blocks to suit your needs.
I haven't seen an ice house like that in ages.........guess they have gone...
Zout.....cook Porky wherever it suits you.......you can even set up the M109 in the mess area if you want to (unless you just want to be with the riff raff on the lower end).
Mike should have plenty of containers for the meat.
I'm not sure Porky will fit in the cooler in the back of Mike's...
My M275 will pull an Expando Van on flat ground pretty good....when it hits a hill it falls flat on it's face.
With an LDS engine and a set of 1100X20 tires it would be really be a hoss.
