    Picked up M813 at Ft.Meade

Today took the cab top to the trim shop. Great shape top except the whole front edge where it hooks on windshield frame had threads rotted away. Normal trim shop we use couldnt sew because plastic strip was to thick. So took to boat canvas and awing place down the street. About 15 minutes and...

    Welding with ear protection?

Done the same thing. Have been welding for 30+ years and its not fun. With welding helmet doesnt happen much, but have done it more with spatter from cutting metal under something... Also had hot slag fall down the back of my boot once, wearing shorts squatted down, that was not fun..left 2 nice...

    Mv newie from western Maryland

Of course I'm just teasing. When I was growing up, everybody on that side of the bay was from Baltimore to us. Your lucky, there seems to be several very nice MV hobbyists over there, only a handful here. Welcome to the club!:-D

Quieting down the low air warning buzzer?

I honestly dont see the big deal. Its no louder than the whole truck running. Its there for a reason. While its buzzing, is a good time for the engine to warm up some. At least a little. I like the light idea, but would still have the buzzer. Its like safety switches/devices on equipment can be...

I thought the same thing about the 2 grp 31's. I work at a fleet and all our trucks have just 2 batteries. so today Made new battery hold downs, since original ones wont fit the grp 31's. Adjusted all the brakes and found 2 way out. Like half a turn out. Beat the dented up exhaust stack out...

Update on brakes: Finally got around to checking on the no/little brake pedal issue. Master cylinder was full with no signs of leaks anywhere. So bled master cyl and booster, no air. pedal the same. Went to wheel cylinders and bled, only got a small amount of air out from 2 wheel cylinders...

    Need help!! Found the leak!!

I was so sure you would quote the TM I didn't even look up what the TM called it. Just waited!! :) thanks It would seem to me that Harmonic balancer and vibration dampener would mean about the same thing. But was wondering what the TM called it. At work we actually use both names for the...

Oh thats cool, just missed you I guess. I was also going to put 4 grp 31's in. Then got thinking all our trucks at work, CAT C7's, Maxforce internationals/DT466s, etc, all have only 2 grp 31's, so i thought i would try it. I have no idea when the truck was last started, the batteries in it were...

I'm like you I never buy something without seeing it. Except this time. I was most concerned about the motor being blown up or stuck, everything else didnt worry me to much. Ive worked on trucks for 30 years for a living, so the mechanical end doesnt worry me to much. I just didnt want to have...

Great thinking on the truck PMs.. as far as the batteries, I get them as take outs. Often times on road calls, we have to change batteries, to get the unit going, when one or sometimes two batteries are dead, but still good. Just dead and no time to recharge. Grp 31 is very popular in almost all...
