Thats stinks, I know it can be repaired. But the nuts it takes to do something like amazes me.
Good luck finding the crooks, and getting it repaired. Is a great looking trailer
One of those relay valves may be for the trailer, not sure. You can follow brake tubing to be sure.
I wish I had one to look at for you. as Im not sure how the foot valve operates on those.
but another thought is, to test the foot valve, is...when locked up...remove the pilot line coming back...
A little troubleshooting and diagnostics, in a methodical manner, will save you a ton of time and money. Think of how current flows, where it goes. and check from point to point.
Badmastard had some great ideas, not sure on the short though. A short, is a "shorted circuit" which in most...
Here is a test for a relay valve. With air pressure built up, and truck NOT running. WHEELS CHOCKED!!! Crawl under truck and find relay valve. Have a friend apply the brakes. When they release the pedal, there should be a release of air from the quick release valve. I have seen mud duabers...
I am not familar with the 923 brakes, but there may be a quick release or relay valve near the rear axle somewhere thats hung up. thats the way it is on commercial trucks.
Caging the brake chambers will only "hold" back the parking brake spring from applying. not the service side as you...
$70 a year liability through state farm, it is historic and restrictions are parades, shows, incidental use. does not have to be garaged. Which is fine by me, i dont need to drive everyday to work. Just bought a M813 from GL and the insurance is the same. I also have 13 policies with state farm...
Found this picture, looks simliar to ours at work. Ours hasnt moved from inside the building in about 5 years. Id take a pic of it but its an hour away.
Pitman made bucket trucks but were more noted for digger derricks. Diggers were pretty tough, the few pitman buckets we had sucked. Can you guess, I work for an electric Company and have worked on all this equipment for almost 25 years. Ihavent seen the trailer in GL but sounds like what I...
A hot line trailer is made to store "hot" sticks in. They are used by lineman to handle "hot" lines or energized power lines. We have one where I work and rarely used anymore. They were more common used when lineman climbed poles and did hot work from the pole. Nowadays, with insulated aerial...
It serves the same function as the lever on an electric brake controller does. To apply the trailer brakes without applying truck brakes. Great way to test trailer brakes before driving down road.
Thanks Ron for the the time on the phone, great information and a mechanic to a mechanic explanation.. not just a "because it does" answer.
Guys who are willing to take the time to explain something to you, make this a very nice site.
again thanks to everyone who takes time to share info
Yeah Ive heard everybody say the "do not roll" is in the -10..and i have no doubt its there..I just cant find it, except the TM for the M35..
Something I'm thinking on is, if the forward clutch [sprag] is engaged, and the shift fork has it in engaged, wouldnt the reverse clutch [sprag] be...
Found a good answer here on a post i must have missed, the 6% difference is what causes it..that makes more sense. They will turn at different speeds, thats the reason for the lock up. Now this was a reply to a M35 with srag question and the TM reference was also for an M35. Wonder if 813 is the...
If I remember correctly when air pressure is built up, with truck in neutral or a forward gear the forward sprag is engaged. When you shift into reverse, air is dumped from forward sprag and air applied to engage rear sprag. Thus the clunk sound.
Thanks for the reply, but still doesnt explain...
OK, Somebody please show me in the operators manual where it says to not let the M813 roll back on hills. I have looked through several times and the only reference I can find pertaining to hills is to not let coast down hill with clutch depressed. Of course that warning has nothing to do with...
