    Marine trucks?

i think many times trucks went back and forth. Some we had did not have paper clips on front bumper and im pretty sure some had Army data plates on them as well. Then when the Marines got rid of all of them, some probably went back to the army. Maintenance was tough, we never had enough tires...

    Marine trucks?

yeah that be me:)..pretty much used up a couple of them. I was there when we traded in M35's for M923's...WOW . The old M35s were tough though and hardly ever remember one broke down. I mean they leaked oil and fuel, but still ran, and we ran em...

    Marine trucks?

They don't have enough to sell any and the rest are on a ship somewhere. :) I thougt the same thing, but I suppose the Marines transportation fleet is a fraction the size of the Army so you would see less. Also I am sure there are difefrent GL sites that Marine equipment would be more likely...

Deuce Insurance Prices - How much do you pay?

I think I'm the luckiest..I have state farm. 30+ years. My M35A2 is $35 for 6 months, liability. And I called today on the M813 I won at GL and its the same. Now there are limitaions. Can't use for commercial work, to and from special events, parades, car shows etc, and "incidental" use. I dont...

    Christmas parade

My son and I decided to take the M35 to the local Christmas parade. Was a blast. I havent been in years and didnt realize there would be that many poeple or entries. There were 90 some floats, fire trucks, bands etc. The parade is at night and the town is well decorated, so its a very nice...

Please don't be this guy(pics inside)

As a thought, DOT doesnt go by the unladen weight of trailer being towed...they go by the gross weight. Which in the case of the M105 would be around 6000lbs i think, If thats so, i doubt that car has a 6000 tow capacity. I really am surprised at the folks who would defend this picture. i know...

    I finally got my Deuce!

That thing under the head light is a "night light" ..It makes you think you can see where your going in the dark.

Please don't be this guy(pics inside)

Magnetic lights are cheap and easy to use. If somebody does rearend you and your towing a trailer with NO lights, it will be YOUR fault..So you not only get a wrecked trailer, but now you get to buy the other guy a new car. Really no excuse not to get them and use them. If you can afford an MV...

    Armor Plate Thickness

I think i kinda like the angle iron frame idea too, 1" angle is not large and can be bought in different thicknesses, so not very heavy. Can fill with plywood and cover with sheetmetal. As far attaching everything with out welding. You could always rivet or even screw/bolt things together. Once...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Well got to admit, it fit well and looked just like the original. Even came 383 green, just like the truck is so no painting required. I thought I had read that somewhere, thanks. [thumbzup]

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Replaced right side windshield, bought from erics surplus, complete, looks great and fit well. Only thing I found interesting was on the box "made in korea" and on the glass is korean writing etched in the glass, may have to put a sticker over that..go figure!!! I wonder if they are making...

    Armor Plate Thickness

Maybe a silly idea and maybe already mentioned , but what about sheet metal covered plywood?? Fairly inexpensive and fairly light. With a sheet metal brake, can easly get the sheet to fit around the edges so it would look and feel almost real. As far as the centers of the sheetmetal, adhesive to...

    Show us your Military Trailers

Just bought a M105 from the SS classifieds and very pleased with it. It was exactly as described by the seller. Its a 1968 frame, with a new body/racks/bows/tires and canvas. Only work needs doing is paint the tongue and frame underneath, install new lights. Has new wiring, but i suspect they...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Replaced tore left front spindle boot. Used the non-zipper type. Bought an axle seal just in case needed it but no signs of oil leaking. so left it alone. Everything went real well, about 2-1/2 hours and all done and road tested. I know there has been several atricles on here about the...

    MD 1st Time Deuce

Would be good to have it stamped on data plate, Id take it off and stamp it with a small letter set. But if you tag it in Md as historic, no one looks at the truck, doesnt have to be inspected either. By far the easiest vehicle I've ever taged in Md, and we all know how MVA is.

    Deuce Door latch

mine was like that and found the square shaft wore....took apart and welded up, filed down good as new..also there is a catch in there that was wore, also welded that up and re-shaped, good to go...the latch itself will come apart to work on pieces if you bend the tabs up a little..just a...

    Winter Dress

I was lucky...I think, the one I bought has the clips installed but no winter front. Now I'll see if the new winter front fits

    Winter fronts

I just bought one from C and C equipment on e-bay. Came with all the springs and clips for the grille. Appeared to be brand new as all was in an un-opened, slightly oily package with that canvas smell. I think was $50 + shipping
