Drill a hole and Install a bolt in either the weighted end, or the flap. You can lay the bolt on it to roughly check which size, most dont need anything though.
I dont use one on mine, but on other fram equipment do. I use the plastic coffee can on mine, and thats only because after it rans, it...
Well i just read all 15 pages....PHEW!!! This whole debate reminds me of the oil change intervals on modern cars/light trucks. Eveybody used to change oil and filter at 3000 miles....Jiffy lube loves you for it. But the manufacture says 7500 in most cases. There are exceptions of course. But...
Great trucks, kinda of interested in finding one if anybody knows of any for sale, that aren't complete junk or been heavily modified. ie: small block chevy etc..:-o
Here is the top plate I made for mine. I have no idea if accurate as couldnt really find a great close up picture. Not a huge deal to make but thats a good price for a new one considering material and time.
I saw someone else has posted and offer to make the top plates for the winch on here. I'm not sure if the one i made is accurate or not, but i did not want the 90 deg corners as we're often standing there or working around the front. I like the corners cut at at an angel. Never really have seen...
oh yeah a little teflon tape on a new plug will help come out next time and help seal as well. These things dont really need to be that tight. Snug is good.
Thanks guys. I bought some other stuff, tires, cargo cover etc, from a salvage yard. 2 trucks had winches and neither had the lock plate or top winch plate..go figure:roll: so just gave up and made them. Did get a good deal on tires though. $75 new on rims, still had little ridge around center...
Finished installing winch but was missing a couple parts. The top cross piece above the winch drum, lock plate for PTO shift lever and of course gaskets, studs and ubolts. Found studs and ubolts at Napa easy enough, but decided to make lock plate and winch bracket. Couldnt find a good picture of...
Installing the PTO on our duece and went to drain the transmission and this is what I found. Seems like somebody else tried to get the plug out and striped out inside and then used a chisel on it. So I welded a bolt in it and turned right out, still was tight but at least came out. Ive used this...
Figured somebody else may need these part numbers.
I searched alot on here and found the U joint numbers for the M35 winch PTO drive shaft. Napa # 369 or spicer # 5-153x. However I couldnt find anywhere on here the strap kit, or u-bolt part numbers. After some digging through some parts books...
1970 M35 wo/w that now is w/w. Was and Army truck now adopted by the Marines.. Before and after paint pictures, last one is out to farm. We drove it to go shooting.
That is what I meant when I said they were difficult to use. They do have great information. But I wondered if there was a "rule of thumb" on which level did what. Obviously the operators and parts TM is self explanatory. The depot and unit level are the ones I always look at the wrong one...
The Tm's are great. I have been reading service manuals for years, but Tm's are harder to find what you want, as I'm not sure what level of maintenance covers what. So I have to look through all the levels to find the information. Its all there and very well explained, but compared to regular...
A compression fitting will work . All fittings on air brake equiped trucks are compression fittings and most of that is plastic tubing. The very best way of repairing would be just replace the whole line, or cut out the bad section, and use a flared fitting like you would on a brake line...
