Yeah, you really need the best opportunity for atomimization in the chamber. By the time you got around to cranking it after putting the air cleaner back on, the WD40 was probably mostly stuck to the manifold.
As was stated before, after cycling the GP, it you pull it immediately, it will be too hot to touch.
It sure sounds like there's no fuel. The IP could be worn out and not making enough pressure to pop the injectors, but it should at least try to fire on WD-40 quirted into the intake while...
If the filter base is "leaking air", it will more than likely be leaking fuel, since it's on the pressure side of the lift pump. They notoriously leak aroung the o-ring of the electrical vacuum/pressure switch in the base.
If the GP's weren't working but the IP was squirting fuel, it wouldn't...
I'll tell you this: Once a truck leaves DRMS, it takes AT LEAST 30-60 days, sometimes longer, to get listed on GL. Everything being listed now (and probably for the next month) on GL was already out of the DRMS system before the code was changed. There's really no arguing that the code has...
The buss bars are a little hard to hook to, but jumping from negative of front battery to negative of front battery and positive of rear battery to positive of rear battery will do this as well. That way, you are jumping true 24V, so the smaller guage of the jumper cables will be less of a...
I will also add that the Group 31's have the posts in the center of the width of the battery, whereas most civilian batteries (78's, etc) are offset to one of the long edges. This feature of the 31's makes it less likely for the connections to short on the hold-downs (they line up with the...
I thought GM put Group 31's in the CUCV's from the factory, but I won't swear to it? The battery trays are designed for either the 31's or 6TL's. You can also get the Optima's and 6TL tray adapters.
Tractor Supply sells a stout Group 31 for about $85 each. I've had good luck with them, but...
Forgot about the oil temp. There's a pipe plug above the oil filter that can be used to get the oil temp (it is used by the Banks turbo kit as a supply for the turbo).
The block does have drains along the bottom edge on each side above the oil pan. There's a pipe plug on each side, but the problem is getting to them. One is probably behind the motor mount, and the other might be just as hard to reach. If you get them out, you'll probably have to poke an awl in...
The spaces I was referring to are empty (no fuses) and accept a single spade. I'm not near a CUCV to look and see if they are there, but they are usually near the top of the box or along the side. Only the ones labelled BAT (I think that's what they say?) should have power all the time. I used...
I can't remember if the CUCV fuse block has the "BAT" and "IGN" spaces that the civilian trucks do, but I think so. They are for adding circuits.
Check at the top of the fuse block for an open space labelled "IGN". Test it to be sure, but it should have power under both situations. Use a spade...
I edited my previous post to basically give this message, but I'm going to repeat it here:
Don't be stupid and irresponsible with your MV's!
This action was ALREADY taken because they apparently HAD the ammo they needed. It's probably why we're in this mess.
I wrote my senators and representative about this, as well.
Some of us like to tell stories about the "Crazy" things we've done in our trucks. Please think about the impact those "crazy" things might have on the hobby before you do them. Irresponsible actions with MV's has nothing but a bad...
They're tough to drill straight. I would try some more heat and some penetrating lube like Kroil or Gibbs or even PB Blaster. Dissimilar metals don't get along, especially there...
IMHO, the problem is we have the "Most Recent Threads" section on the main page. I've asked in the past if we could exempt forums from that list? If so, we could have classified and want forums and have the standard one bump per day rule. Of course, when there's lots of traffic, that still tends...
