Even though we do, sometimes I wish I had a whole load less - that way I'd have to clear out the inbox more frequently.
There are some here I'm sure, that would end up filling what ever size inbox they had and you would still not be able to ever get a message through!....... eh Jeff! :-D
Thanks Clinto - suitably admonished. I look forward to being much 'cleverer' in future..... However, all I can say in my defence is that the item in question was not 'found by me' after weeks of searching but was in the GL advert in the top left hand corner of that days forum, when I logged on...
Wisconsin have some funny ideas of what a collectors military vehicle is.... Extract from http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers...stmilitary.htm .... { Note: There are four former military vehicles that may also be registered as a Collector vehicle. These are the Pinzgauer, Kaiser Jeep...
More to the point - how much extra will they cost! Not exactly as beneficial as taxes on legalised weed, but they won't miss an opportunity that's for sure.
As far as "look like" - perhaps they should get those "that have" to come up with designs to get voted on....
Probably be something...
Transfer lever extn test flight
OK Huckelberry, I looked closer at the pic in post #10 of the other thread and notice a second bend upwards, towards the passenger seat. SO, here is a posibility as to additional bends to bring the X-fer knob back more, let me know how your heating etc., works...
I installed mine over holidays. Put in rear access hole but had to reverse the element in the plate as it came backwards. Agree, the hardest part was removing the old one - really 'stuck' on good.
What are you trying to do? (assuming front winch - M925 = WW)
They are sized by the cable diameter and still available new. Search here for "Esmet".
They are available in many sizes from way smaller than the boom rope to way bigger than the rear drag winch and there are many other styles than...
Never noticed any discussions before other than your one PM comment to me awhile back.
er... OK (?)....
no idea what remote hosting is so I guess I'll stick with:-
Go ahead and delete this whole post, unless you think others need to know this...
Thanks anyway.
OK - I need a step by step guide to putting pics in a PM.
I have no 'paperclip' icon above the PM window.
No probs with the main part of SS - just the PM function.
Thanks - but please keep the answers simple!
But if you were to engage the transfer case - what do you think would happen? (Sorry for the sarcasm - I'm a Brit, it's what we do.. It's a rhetorical question)
You are not supposed to drive while using the rear winch - hence the need to select transfer 'neutral'. Rear winching operations...
I am wondering if you have it adjusted correctly... if you CAN drive off?
How about putting an airspring in place of the cable and converting it to 120 psi. Won't move then! And yes it has been done very successfully.
Is there any one out there in the Buffalo area able to go lean on Casey a little for me.
They are on Transit Rd in Dapew.
I have been trying to locate a 70's part however although they say they can help, I'm guessing that they haven't gotten back to me as the part I need is prob "way out back"...
Well you don't need the camera when operating the crane, so store it in the front locker, have a mag mount and long enough cable and put it there when needed, running the chord along the boom top or leave it there 'till you need to crane - then stow in locker.
Sure - many "line tucks" use side...
Of course many will comment: Using a wrecker on your own - not recommended.
With that said, carry spare cable. Engage winch from cab with PTO lever - having already set winch to pay out at the rear winch controls. This way you can drive forward, paying out cable.
Use snatch block and...
I think a good place subject to the angle that the camera can see, would be under the boom about 1 - 2 feet from the mast head, pointing at 45 deg down and back. Hopefully you'd see the pintle and the winch line.....
See also wrecker bed mod's thread. I'm currently working on a design...
Am I reading this right and thinking you need to add this side pull frame to the rear????? 'Cause you have hugh sidepull rollers at the back and only need this mod on the front...
On the other thread - does weight saving/job sharing count as body mods or should another thread be initiated -...
Nice idea - though you'd have to come up with something clever for the pintle end of the towbar... I can think on that one - yet another nuisance sketch! Though a double width spade foot would be do-able - triangles stronger than two straight bars, except for a diagonal rear side pull...
Here's a vid I found of a Deuce being split when shifting up WITHOUT a transfer stick extension, camera pointing at rev counter. Turn sound up and listen to engine then imagine it all slower for a loaded 5 ton.
I am not sure off hand, how the gear ratios compare between a Deuce and a 5 ton...
puts the top of the stick (knob) in closer proximity/similar plain to the main gear stick and gets it away from grabbing for the winch lever when you shift in a hurry when pulling heavy loads. So you don't waste time and revs grabbing for the std lever down by your knee. Ever driven a twin...
