Noticed in the photos that your temperature gauge is way low. You should see it up around 180-190 when its up to temp and loaded.
Is the gauge reading correctly? I looked back through this thread but I didn't see any mention of it running cold. If its really that cold its problematic. Diesels...
Yea, I fear those days are gone for good. With the exception of a score of a trailer mounted unit, its hard to even get a 802 for under that at auction once you count all the fees and taxes. It makes putting much effort into one to offer it to a good home at a decent cost really, really hard.
One of the things I've discovered and try to take advantage of when I can is the generators on trailers can sometimes go for less than bare machines since it takes more effort to haul away a couple of generators on trailers. You never know if the tires are good enough for a road trip home so its...
I've given up on using the OEM hose on the return side of things. Units that I went through about 5 years ago have started leaking. I'm using the thicker gates fuel line now. Its not as easy to install but I hope it lasts a few years longer.
The lines on the supply side of the injection pump are 1/4". I have stopped using the 3.5mm return line and I now use conventional 1/8" fuel line. Its harder to put on but I think it will last longer than the OEM style return line.
The super cold weather will be here tomorrow night and for the next few days we will have few hours above freezing. That is uncommon this far south. Just in case the heatpump struggles or gets frozen up, I broke out one of the H140s to have on standby. These things also come in handy if you need...
Trying to keep an eye on things here. We are on that line in NC where it could be something OR it could be nothing. I'm staying prepared for either eventuality.
Thats why I was asking about doing a VFD and running the pump below nameplate so a single 802 could handle it. I'm assuming in the off season the full flow/pressure of the well may not be needed.
It would be much easier to have to deal ONLY with start/run events and not the whole parallel...
Ug… 3 phase. I see your problem. It it were single phase, I’d recommend an inverter/battery setup for that.
Any chance you can use a VFD on the pump to get it into the output range of a single 802? Do you need full pump output?
Everyone gets fixated on speed control but that is actually the easy part. What makes it hard to parallel 802s is the voltage regulators. You'll need to change the VRs to ones that can do a master-slave setup. The stock VRs will NOT play nicely in a parallel situation.
Woodward does make the...
The load meter is calibrated for a power factor of 0.8. The generator is at 100% rated load when the load meter reads 80% (assuming a pure resistive load).
These things will do over their rating. Most healthy 803s can handle up to about a 12.5 kw load. That doesn't mean you should run them at...
