Not quite right. You realize NOW, that you should have disconnected the Negative Battery Terminal before sticking a wrench in there.

I made a quick scan. I think, I would go for it. I too, did not see any big difference. But you need to know what started your set to burn. If its something you overlook, than you will get to see a second one smoke test.
This is not, according to SFUS, an MEP-806A. Its an MEP-006A. Different animals. I think maybe SFUS wrote the wrong model number, or someone put a JD engine in a MEP-006A
