Haven't been on the forums much, but here is some pictures from a recent trip with the CUCVII to the beach. Wrong camo for the environment. Maybe one of these pictures will be good enough to finally win MV of the month on here 👀
Friend of mine bought the new CUCVII from an auction, when they took a picture of the data tag we found out the numbers were sequential. They changed their mind on what they wanted to do with the vehicle and sold it to me.
Picked up another CUCVII Tahoe today. Not only are these both exceptionally rare, but these two have SEQUENTIAL V.I.N.s and military registration numbers. This new one was an Air Force Security Forces vehicle. It will be restored to a military 3-part camoflage paint job and turned into an Army...
Fixed the issue today. I thought I had replaced the front rotors in the past, but I was incorrect. Upon inspection of the pads, they were destroyed despite only having around 6000 miles on them. Brake pads were covered under warranty, and I got new rotors and a master cylinder. Replaced it all...
Don't know about the ride height proportioning valve. The one on top of the rear differential? Yes. Rear brakes work.
The skidding is the front axle. Don't know what the pistons are made of. It's whatever O'Reilly's sells. Don't know if it is heat related because it will do this as soon as I...
I've read through several posts on here trying to find a solution to my problem but I haven't found it yet. It's on a 1984 M1009 CUCV
Here is my problem:
When braking, the vehicle will pull hard to the left or to the right. It appears that only one of the front brakes will get the majority of...
If the ignition is off, the transmission light should not be illuminated.
The TCM doesn't get power until the relay sends it. Swapped in other tcms that work and got the same issue. That next makes the issue the relay, which is independent of the TCM. The problem is that the relay is working...
The TCM has nothing to do with it. Somewhere in the A2 harness it gets the 24v switched ignition signal that tells the relay to turn on, but I don't know where. I think something with the special forces wiring of accessories and whatnot they tapped into something that they shouldn't have and...
Friend of mine got his CUCV II delivered on Monday. Found it for him on another forum. Helped him convert it back to 24 volts. Turns out that the 6.5 diesel and 5.7 gas cucv models 24v systems are wired the same.
Picked up a M1102 trailer about 4 hours away from me yesterday. The CUCV II pulls it with no issues. It is connected to the pintle hitch, but I am going to get an adjustable height receiver so it tows more level.
Even with the Service Light selector in "ALL OFF" my reverse lights come on when in reverse. Is that normal?
If it isn't, it probably has to do with the obnoxious security system the prior owner installed
