Does anyone know where this plug goes? It is located next to the wiring harness for the blackout light switches. The plug is present and is not connected to anything in either of my CUCV IIs. The pink wire is short and spliced into the main light harness.
In the CUCV II Facebook group, Nico uploaded the 6.5T (diesel) wiring diagram for a CUCV II (source: Warthog). I edited it to show how both of my 5.7L (gas) battery systems are wired. Hopefully this helps someone, I know it would've helped me earlier.
Sent in my registration about two weeks ago. This may be the only event I can go to this year because of every other event being cancelled. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
At the end of the day no one was hurt and it is a teachable moment. For military vehicles, I have only had a HMMWV engine run away from me, due to a bad fuel shut off solenoid and a seized throttle cable. I've had old tractors (1940s, 50s) run away before for various reasons.
Diesel engines...
Interesting. I have attached a picture of the manual I have and it shows a different model. The description also makes it sound like the main purpose of the of the power supply is to power a radio instead of charging the 24v battery system.
You would have to use the brackets I posted earlier to mount on a 3 hole bumper and drill new holes in the mounts. The one plate I was holding up was some modification someone made to use the tubular bumper with the same mounts I posted without any modification.
Even if you have the dual voltage generator, you will not have any voltage come out of the 14v side unless you have a battery cable going from the 12v+ of the rear battery to the 14v+ on the generator. The 14v+ generator does not put out any voltage unless it has something with voltage connected...
Here's some pictures of the tubular bumpers installed on two of my hmmwvs. I bought one of them a while back with the brackets and it came with a welded plate that had bolt holes for the regular bumper.
Here are the part numbers you need to mount it on the 3 hole bumper. You'll still need to drill the 3 hole bumper and the brackets unless you weld them on. The brackets are about $50 each on Mac Motors.

Do you have a part number for the converter? According to the CUCV II reference manual that was in my glovebox, the converter behind the seat was only for a 24v radio power supply.
Still trying to figure out how to reinstall the 24v system. I found these two relays and one disconnected wire. Haven't traced where it goes yet, put a multimeter on it and there is no voltage. The label is faded but the relay on the left is marked "24V".
Picked up another CUCV II. Ex-Air Force vehicle. It's a very clean tahoe but is missing most of the CUCV II stuff, so I'm going to combine parts from my other CUCV II with this one to make a solid vehicle. I also will be repainting it to 383 green. My other CUCV II is just too far gone for the...
Nice submissions this month. Restored my CUCV myself. It was a total POS when I got it, not running, missing electrical components, and even caught on fire when I first connected the batteries. In total I have around 600 hours of work into this CUCV. It's not perfect, but it does look nice.
Got the predator lightbar mount installed. The 52" LED light bar should arrive tomorrow. I'm also working on replacing all the wood troop carrier seats just in case I ever get to go to a parade again.
