MEP-002A Starter lock out switch bypassed?

That calls for a clean up and resoldering and a small piece of heat shrink over each pin. Glad you found the problem.

    MEP-802A No Power

Always start any troubleshooting proceedure with fully charged batteries if possible. All DC measurements are based on that.

    starting 802 with no electronics

I'd open up the solenoids first and inspect them. They might need nothing more than a cleaning and burnishing of the contacts inside.

    mep 803a flywheel

Guy, I thought the same thing.....five bolts are highly unlikely to fall out or fail at the same time and I think a broken crank is even less likely. If you haven't seen one in all your years working on these sets, then I think its safe to assume( I know never assume) that its not the problem...

    MEP-802a just reached 17,000 hours

Ouch! The power company here will run 1000 ft +- from the road for a home and 300 ft for an out building Free here. My out building happened to be right below the second pole in so they installed another drop transformer on it for me, no charge. They will also install a street light on the...

    MEP-802a just reached 17,000 hours

Who are you asking? Electricity is quite cheap here. My monthly average bill is about $75.00. Well worth the convenience. Thats a fraction of what people I know pay for power in other places. The electric company installed 3 poles spanning about 1100 feet from the road, installed a new drop...

    MEP-802a just reached 17,000 hours

Agree! 17000 hours at 1gal/hr@ $2.40/gallon.......Holy Crap!! He's already exceeded his grid installation costs by 25% @ $35,000.00 estimate. The math doesn't work right for me. Its one thing if you're waaaay remote without any chance of a power grid install, but if its there and available...

Thats cheap enough.....probably not worth building one unless the parts and knowledge are on hand. Thanks for the link!

    Currently Running on MEP Power

A light is an easy way to do it. Having both a visual and audible alarm can be advantageuos if one is not able to directly see the breaker panel though. A simple audible alarm can be made with a single pole double throw(center off) switch, a 110v relay, a small neon bulb, a small 12v step down...
